If you are a foodie, a gardener or just interested in doing something out of the ordinary, then the O'o Farm tour is for you. It is both educational and entertaining. The tour starts off with a trek through the fields that provide the fresh produce for the Pacific'o and I'o restaurants in Lahaina. On the day we were there, half of our group of twelve were permanent residents, so this is not the average tourist attraction. We learned about coffee, composting and many types of fruits and vegetables. We also smelled, crushed and tasted several plants and their leaves or seeds as we worked our way around the acreage. Ansel gave an excellent overview, clipping and collecting various greens that were destined to become our salad as he went. Meanwhile, Chef JJ fired up the barbecue to prepare the mahi mahi and cooked veggies. All of this was accompanied by fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and Hawaiian red sea salt for garnish. Dining at large wooden picnic tables with a view to the sea only made the meal better. And the French press coffee and homemade chocolate truffles ended the experience perfectly. A unique opportunity well worth the drive and the price.

This is one of the best "hidden" upcountry places on the Island of Maui. WE had a delightful and educational tour of the farm by Ansel and a talk about the fresh vegetables and their preparation by Chef JJ. Bring your own wine and Chef JJ will chill it for you durung your tour of the farm. WE picked some of the greens for our salad and we were able to "taste" a variety of greens, herbs and fruit during the tour. We purchased a pound of their coffe and cannot wat to grind the beans to have this taste at home. Beautiful bicoastal views. Soon they will be offering pizza, as the day we were there, they were constructing a brick oven....This was GREAT and will go again.

I highly recommend the O'o Farm tour and lunch. We learned so much about organic farming and coffee roasting from Ancil, our guide . The meal was fantastic and everything was so fresh. Make sure you bring your own bottle of wine and they keep it chilled for you while you are on the tour. Awesome views of the island from this 4000 foot elevation... bring a light jacket and suitable foot wear as your shoes will get dirty.

We were looking for a few activities that were 'off the beaten path' in Maui and were thrilled to discover the O'o farm tour and lunch. If you like good food you will like this tour.

The guided farm tour with Richard was great, along the way we picked our lunch which was then prepared for us by Chef J.J.

Incredible views and great people. Was so a nice chance to meet a few other visitors l Maui over a relaxing lunch.

If you go bring your own wine, Richard wa not only our guide but a somelier as well and they don't charge a corkage fee.

Dress a bit warmer as the weather is cooler in these higher elevations.

One of the four farm employees took us on a walk around the farm, seeing everything from coffee trees (we tasted the ripe coffee "cherry"), through the citrus orchard, and to the various locations they grow produce for their two Lahaina restaurants. We picked most of our own salad, supplemented by tasty and unusual additions by the guide as we traveled through the farm. He explained a lot about farming, including composting. We then sat down to a delicious lunch (BYOB if you want something other than water), served buffet style. The aforementioned salad, sitr-fried tofu with vegetables, and fresh local fish cooked with more vegetables. For dessert, hand-rolled chocolate truffles, crack-your-own macadamia nuts (also grown on-site), with fresh-roasted coffee. Very enjoyable; I will recommend to all my friends who go to Maui.
