Description: When you come on up to visit us at Ulupalakua, you'll find it's not just about the drive. These days, it's about the food. "We're becoming a food destination," says Will Munder, Executive Chef of Ulupalakua Ranch Store & Grill. Mosey up to the counter, and you'll still find all the classic Ranch favorites, but the good stuff just got better. Now everything is made from scratch and as local as we can get it. The Ulupalakua lamb, beef and famous elk are part of our commitment to serve only meat from the Ranch or from Maui. And thanks to Upcountry's abundance. The bustling Grill gets crates of fresh local lettuce, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, pineapple, herbs and more, every morning. Reminders of times gone by are everywhere inside the Ulupalakua Store, from the sepia-toned photos on the walls to the cowboy hats on the shelves. The Store is a happy place of simple things, good things. Our motto here at Ulupalakua Ranch is: "Happy People." Plain and simple.

Love this little store across from Tedeschi winery. Love the crazy little signs and the view of the cattle farm and ocean. Worth a stop for a beverage or sandwich..

We were planning a drive up to the Kula area anyway and decided to time it so we could have lunch at the Ranch Grill... having heard good things about the burgers. We enjoy the atmosphere at the quaint local eating places and like to try them out.
The building is primarily a store and souvenir shop... and it does have some most interesting and quaint western décor. The grill area is a large semi-outdoor Bar-B-Q and they offer an assortment of menu items, but the specialty is the burgers. We had the elk burgers because that appeared to be the house specialty. They are more expensive than the beef burgers, but they are very lean (and gluten free for my wife) and they were very good.
We were not disappointed at all as this made for a great scenic drive and an excellent lunch stop.

Come on! How can you go wrong at a place that has a sign that asks cowboys to scrape "it" off their boots before they walk in? I had the beef burger with Swiss and my wife had the elk with pepper jack and pineapple. You will kick yourself for missing this one. Aloha.

We were looking for the Winery but came by this store only to find that the Winery was across the street! Met a fellow Aussie working there from Adelaide! Lots of cool stuff and interesting store - the food looked great too! We just bought a couple of souvenirs.

We had done a tour of the winery conveniently located across the road from the Ulupalakua Ranch Store & Grill just in time to have a peaceful lunch. We had the elk burger and the special which that day was pineapple sausage, homemade mac & cheese and salad. The burger was great made from freshly ground elk meat. The sausage was delicious and unique accompanied with some of the best mac & cheese I have ever had. The setting is picture perfect and the drive up is beautiful. Take time to enjoy the surroundings and treat yourself to one of their delicious meals.
