Our room was clean, small, and had everything you need at a stone's throw from the stunning beach: tea- and coffee making facility, hair-dryer, beach towels, wifi, shampoo, a small table and two chairs, small bathroom with nice shower. We asked for a room upstairs in a quiet corner, and we got just that. If you want an oceanview room you habe to consider that the tables from the excellent restaurant next door are having some of their tables right outside the groundfloor hotel rooms. There is enough parking available! I was a bit worried when I read some of the reviews, but I can only say that everything was just right for us. If you want a bigger room and more luxury then you have to go somewhere else and pay much more...

Had read reviews but after 20 nights we would absolutely stay here again because we loved the beach and that you could walk to all parks and restaurants very easily along the ocean path. Rooms are small but functional and who spends a lot of time in the hotel room on Maui? Staff were helpful when our bathroom sink backed up and they moved us to a different room. You are just steps from an amazing beach where you can see all kinds of fish and the turtles when you snorkel. The parking was a minor annoyance especially on the weekends when everyone used the gravel lot which is a public parking lot as well as overflow from the Inn and the restaurant which I thought was overpriced. The huli huli chicken BBQ was across the road on weekends and we finally got to try it.
All in all the Days Inn was a good place to stay on a fantastic beach. I recommend to the owners that they invest in some gas barbecues since there is already a propane tank on the premises and provide some beach chairs for the units.

We were looking for a place a month before we arrived in Maui so our choices were extremely minimal. This hotel was the only one available in our price range. However, after reading the reviews I was extremely worried that it would be a complete dive. I was so relieved when we got there. But then again, I was prepared too (so thanks Trip Advisor).

Yes, the rooms are small. And as some people had suggested, I requested an upper floor corner room(which is exactly what I got). And it wasn't as dated as I thought it would be. I've stayed in much worse, and much better. But, for the price and the location, it was a solid 'good'. Everything was clean and the shuttered windows and blue & white bedspread gave it a beach cottage feel. Literally steps from an awesome stretch of beach, nearby restaurants that were a bit pricey, ample parking and 1.5 miles to our favourite place for a cheap cold beer at Moose McGuillyCuddys (which we walked a time or two, even though we had a car)

Never saw a cockroach (I may have seen a dead one outside) - I was so worried about having them in my room that I lost sleep the first 3 nights I was there. Yes, the air conditioner was very noisy and had loud vibrations so that we didn't use it while we slept, but there was an overhead fan that kept us comfortable. The bed, linens and pillows were comfy. The shower was big and comfy. The dressing table outside the bathroom was a nice touch. Fridge and microwave were new and very handy. And the other folks staying there were awesome.

So, in short, if you're staying here, you'll be just fine. Heck you only use the place to sleep anyway.

Room Tip: Request an upper floor corner room. If you want a balcony, spend a bit extra and see if you can get...

This hotel is located on the nicest beach in Kihei, rooms are small but we spend very little time in the room because of its location. The cleaning staff was very responsive to our needs. Front desk staff (VI) went out of her way to accommodate us.. Thank You Vi we will be back every year. Carol and Dan R

This is a great location, and the desk staff are wonderful. Rooms are nice for the money!
My issue is with the GM and the Owner. Apparently the highly rated restaurant, SARENTO'S On The Beach which leases the space they use from the hotel ,and does not have proper parking worked out with them. I learned all this from the restaurant GM Ryan Hertz, who was very nice and I agree with him that they need more parking, but it became an issue when I got in a competition with the Valet service people over parking in the hotel lot. The Valet guy told me to go next door to the gravel parking lot. This is where a hotel guest is suppose to roll luggage from? I think SARENTO'S should insist that the Valet service park all cars in the public gravel lot, and work out the issues with this hotel in private! You are both losing $$$$$ do to bad experience which translates into bad online reviews. I decided not the dine at SARENTOS because of this issue. I wonder how may others have? I also feel the ownership of the Hotel needs to get this straight with the restaurant because they are getting bad reviews as well and losing even more $$$$.

The hotel is steps away from the beach and a good place to see sunset as well as watching Whales in a distance. Location of the hotel is good, walking distance to the nearby shopping centre. Hotel room is small but acceptable. The only complained is the noise of the air conditioner.
A restaurant is attached to the building and a good place to have breakfast and watching the Whales.
