“Kool at Koa!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2007

We stayed in condo #503 and was everything we needed and more! Since this was our 2nd trip to Maui, we knew we wanted to stay in Kihei for part of our trip and found Koa Lagoon to be the perfect base to set off on our day trips. We always looked forward to coming back to our temporary "home." The condo is situated right on the water and the views were amazing especially during sunset. The condo was very clean, updated with granite countertops, new appliances, well stocked kitchen in terms of pots, pans, cutlery, etc..., the bathroom was updated as well. The building is maintained nicely, the pool was a great alternative to the small beach(you may want to go to another beach since koa's beach was good only for sitting and getting some sun on a little patch of sand), and the lanai(patio) was awesome.
The only negative was the main road could be heard from the bedroom. It didn't really matter since everything more than made up for that AND we were usually up anyway.
I would definitely recommend Koa Lagoon!

We stayed here for the week of Thanksgiving 2006. Since it is impossible to find pictures of the inside of these units, I took pictures of ours. We stayed in room 205 which is said to be one of the rooms that has not been updated in the last 5 years. First, let me say, the views are EXCELLENT. You cannot beat them for the price. We have stayed at much more expensive hotels on Maui and this view is the best. As for the road noise that people have mentioned, if you do not have the air conditioning on in the bedroom (or at least the air conditioning fan) you CAN hear the road. If you are a light sleeper or want silence, this is probably not the best place for you. We slept with the air conditioning on every night and never heard anything other than the hum of the air conditioner. In general, we found it very quiet. I have included pictures of the "beach" in front of the hotel. As others have mentioned, it has a green seaweed on it and it SMELLS. You will not smell it unless you walk down there, but if you do, you will smell it and you would not want to get in the water here. But, there are plenty of great beaches less than a 5min drive away. In general, we were happy with our stay and you cannot beat the price for ocean front ocean view.

We had a fantastic two week stay Sept/Oct 2006 in condo 507. We could not believe our luck - it was truly home from home! The view was out of this world! Maui is a great place lots to do without costing a fortune - find the freebies.
Yes there is a seaweed problem on the beach infront of the condos but the back hoe takes care of that early in the morning and lots of people swam.
Check the coupons for specials when eating out they are some good inexpensive places around.
Maui a great place to relax and the Koa Lagoon is the place to do it - a true gem!!!! Worth travelling from Australia for!
