“Great location for families”

We had two condos here for our family group of 8. Very well set up for children with an actual small shallow pool for kids as well as beautiful grounds and lovely fountains directly across from the beach. We both had lovely upgraded rooms with redone bathrooms and granite or coriander counters. Perfect for different ages!

Room Tip: We booked directly with owners this time but used castle last year and they were very responsive to...

My wife and I along with my nephew stayed eight nights at the Kamaole Sands in Kihei May 2-10. We stayed in unit 10103 which was great. Newly remodeled kitchen and appliances, two full baths and flat screen TV’s in living room and bedroom. The unit had a nice upgraded sofa bed which was very comfortable. This unit had a huge lanai with large outside dining set and awesome views of Kamaole Beach. We spent quite a few evenings sitting on the patio with a glass of wine enjoying the sunset and spectacular views.
The grounds at the Kamaole Sands are beautiful. Well maintained lawns, flower gardens, palm trees and water features abound this property. The pool area was quite nice as well, as we enjoyed the free Mai Tai party on Wednesday afternoons with some cool Hawaiian entertainment and live music. The grilling area was one of my favorite features. This was a great place for grilling in the evenings on what looked to be new Weber gas grills.
Can wait to return to the Kamaole Sands!

When I arrived to check in for my already pre-paid stay the front desk young woman, Ange, was extremely rude. She had trouble with my credit card and immediately treated me like a criminal. She was rude the entire time, even when everything was cleared up. I was not feeling well when I arrived and spent much of the time there sick. I had stayed at the Maui Hill resort before and was not able to get a room there. The Maui Hill is WONDERFUL. The layout of the Kamaole Sands condos is very odd. The bedroom was near the front door so noisy and had a light on outside the window all night without a way to blocked out the light. I would not go back. I had a great experience at both the Maui Hill and the Maui Coast Hotel where they were incredibly accommodating and friendly.

Room Tip: make sure you ask for a quiet or dark room if that is what you want. Be specific about whatever it...

In our humble opinion, having stayed in Kihei, Kaanapali, Wailea and Kahana, this condo complex offers the best quality for the most reasonable price on Maui. We have come to Maui for 20 years, and love the resorts of Wailea and the beaches of Makena, but can't stand the prices. Kamaole Sands sits one short mile from Wailea, with views and condos of equal quality, and 2/3 or less of the price of Wailea. The one bedroom units have good space, nice kitchens, but no A/C in the bedroom (usually not a problem in the winter and spring months). Most units have been redone with nice accents, but the upgrades vary, and some have great views and some not - so shopping online and looking at location and amenities is most important. We are currently on the third floor of building 1, and love this beautiful condo. We have been in a poorly kept condo in building 8 and not been happy at all. But we will return here, hopefully for years to come, because we love Maui best of the islands, and we love Kamaole Sands best of the affordable condos.

Room Tip: Go online, and look at your location first (buildings 1, 2, 3, 7 and 10 are ideal). Then look at p...

We've stayed at several different condo's here, always renting directly from the owner. In the last year, prices have increased substantially (supply and demand, I guess). I recommend renting from owners, as prices are significantly less than renting through front desk.

We lucked out this past year, had 4-202 and it was very nice.Large lanai, nicely-renovated and lots of amenities. The lanai faces Keonekai Road, which does have a bit of traffic and road noise during the day, but it's quiet at night.

The property is nicely landscaped .. but elevators are brutal (one per building). Wish they could put some kind of cart at the elevator for hauling groceries/luggage up.

Room Tip: We prefer Building 4 (faces north, doesn't get afternoon sun) and Buildings 8-9 over the inner c...
