We arrived at 1:30 am and found the front desk staff unpleasant and rude. The pull out bed in the living room had a strong odor of urine. When we told the staff we could not sleep on that bed, they told us to call the phone number we were given. With a phone call back we were given the keys to look at another condo. At the elevator of that condo we ran into shirtless, tattooed, Carnival guys giving us the eye and trying to tell us their days events. We felt unsafe, the parking was unlit, tight and not close to the condo. We did not stay. When we called back, were were acused of making up these issues. Not a place I would stay!

Room Tip: Have the security person check the room with you.

Aloha,
Thank you for taking the time to post your review.
We all work diligently at making the guest experience at Kamaole Sands a positive one and I am sorry your experience was not a pleasant one.
Do you recall which management company you made your reservation through? What was the number of your first unit that you were sent to?
Kamaole Sands owners have their units are managed through different management entities, and we would like to know in order to address your concerns with that management company.
Again, I apologize that your experience was a negative one. Please contact me directly should you with to stay at Kamaole Sands in the future.
Regards,

We recently stayed at Kamaole Sands for three days. The resort was recommended to us by 2 couples who have been returning there for vacations for many years. We stayed in unit 10-207 and had a great time. The unit was very clean and nicely decorated, It had personal touches which made us feel at home. Everything we needed was provided, and the resort fee of 25 dollars was even picked up for us by the owner Sandi. We enjoyed our unit because it was directly across from the fountain, and was a short walk to the beach across the street. The fountain is lit up with colored lighting at night and reminded us of a mini- Bellagio water show. We had a fun time at the mai tai party and appreciated the hula demonstrations. The pool water was clean (I am a pool owner so I know what I am talking about!), and the hot tub was perfect. Overall this was a good bargain for a great vacation. I can see that a family would especially like Kamaole Sands because of the large grassy area, the great pool, and the close proximity to the ocean. There is even a separate wading pool for little ones. We frequently ate at the 5 Palms which has an excellent 30 dollar special at 5:30 p.m. for a 4 course dinner with a fantastic ocean view. My only suggestion is maybe for some A/C in the master bedroom for those occasional evenings with no tradewinds. The fans were Ok, but it still got pretty warm in October. Overall we had a great time for 3 days. Thanks Sandi!

Room Tip: We liked building 10 because it is close to the ocean, but still not a long walk to the pool. The ot...

Aloha,
Thank you for taking the time to post review, and for the kind, complimentary words in describing your stay at Kamaole Sands.
We all work diligently at making the guest experience at Kamaole Sands a positive one and I am glad you and your family had a delightful stay.
It was indeed a warm October, the normal trade winds did not consistently blow, and it can get a little warm during those conditions.
On behalf of the AO property managers and staff, as well as the Castle personnel, thank you for staying with us and we hope you return soon.
Regards,
Paul Gomez

This place is good for families on a budget but definitely not as polished as some of the other options in the area. If you want to impress your significant other I would suggest trying other options. I also came on here to say if you stay here watch out for the giant iron spike by the wall that holds the door. It's sharp and hard!!! I punctured my heel on it while going out. You'd think with everyone wearing flip flops they would have removed these from the condos and installed something safer!!

We were placed in a unit owned and booked by our travel club H.S.I..This was because of a mistake they had made in our booking of Maui Banyon.. The unit was in building 8, which has a view from the lanai of a row of oleanders and the back of the adjacent resort. Check in was at 4 P.M., which they were quite rigid about, We had arrived early and shopped for food before check- in After asking they allowed us to put our refrigerated food in an out-of-order frig. in their break room but not take it to the room and place in condo. fridge. The grounds are nice in the middle of the complex, but every building is virtually surrounded by parking lots as this is a large complex. We actually rented a second condo. and moved to Maui Beach Vacation Club in N. Kihei, which we enjoyed very much and returned only for their MAI TAI party on Wed. at the pool. This was a nice event and all the staff were friendly.

I read a lot about this condo on other people reviews and I was a little bit afraid what im going to see there. I wasn’t expecting a lot. I guess we got lucky with the room. Condo was nice and clean. Kitchen was updated with nice appliances. We didn’t have carpet floor that a lot of people were complaining about. Instead we had nice tile floor. Bathrooms also were nice and updated. As about furniture they were not as nice, but overall condo was very nice and clean. Having a kitchen helped a lot because food on the island is expensive. Having a kitchen fully equipped helped us out a lot on saving money.
They don’t have wifi there but they do have free internet as long as you plug in your laptop to the wire cable. What really bothered me what extremely unhappy, unfriendly and unprofessional stuff had a lot of unexpectable charges they have no explanation for. They were charging me fees but they couldn’t explain what those fees where for. Very unfriendly and uninformative .Location was great- close to the airport and also to the beach. We got lucky with partial ocean view. If I go to Maui again I will not stay there again. They have bunch of condos in that area that are in the same price range but you treated nicer and feel welcomed.

Room Tip: i stay in building 4 condo 202 - nice and updated rooms

We stayed at the Kamole Sands this September for five nights as part of a Living Social deal as well as a night at our own expense. From making the reservation, to check-in, and check-out the entire experience couldn't have been better. The condo was clean and had all the amenities we needed, including a fantastic view of the ocean. The pool area was clean and beautifully landscaped. They even allowed us a late check-out for a minimum fee (which was understandable as it is Hawaii.) We will book with this resort again for future travel to Maui!

Room Tip: ask for building 10 when making your reservation as it's the closest to the beach!

Aloha and Mahalo Nui Loa (Thank you very much) for your review of Kamaole Sands. We are not the rental management company for this unit as we did not run the living social special; however, we are very pleased to hear that you had such a great experience at the Kamaole Sands. This is a great property because it is well manicured and it is in a great location. Building 10 is closest to the beach and so is building 1. We hope to see you on your next visit to Maui. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Very nice condo close to kamaole 3 across the street. No cleaning for one week so we have to ask for one. Great value. Stuffed with everything you need at the beach. Including snorkeling gear. Beach chair towel and umbrella

Aloha and Mahalo Nui Loa (Thank you very much) for your review of Kamaole Sands. One of the biggest highlights of this property its location directly across the street from Kamaole 3 beach, which is one of Maui’s most popular beaches. I am not sure if you booked with Maui Condo and Home, but we only offer mid-stay cleans if desired for an additional fee. It is great to hear that your unit was supplied with beach gear and that you had a fun vacation and you were able to enjoy the beach with all of your extra supplies. We hope that your time at Kamaole Sands was memorable and we hope to see you on your next Maui vacation. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
