“suite A402”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2012

This was our first stay at Haleakala Shores and hope it is not our last. This top floor corner unit is directly across from Kami 3 and a short walk to the shopping and restaurant establishments. Our unit was very large and contained all the elements required for an extended stay. We made use of the in-suite laundry, beach mats (some we replaced), beach towels, beach chairs, and snorkel gear. The kitchen and baths were also very well equipped. Others have correctly noted that this is the noisy side of the building but the trade off is the terrific view of the park, ocean, and killer sunsets. We could have closed the windows facing the road but we preferred to listen to the waves crashing upon the beach. Eventually one does get used to the motorcycles and the park maintenance crew starting their day at 6 a.m.. Hey, if you want peace and quiet, check out units at the back of the building and keep your windows closed because the birds begin singing loudly just before dawn. In Maui it is 'early to rise' and 'early to bed', which is easy to do given the time change. To sum up, this is a terrific place to vacation and very hard to leave!

Room Tip: Google for room A402, you won't be disappointed!

we spent 17 days in feb 2012 in b410. It was a nice short walk to the beach, the exterior of the building was clean and well groomed along with the pool area. Parking under cover, however the resident neighbour to our spot parked his car crooked every day with his motorcyle in front making it so we had to unload people before we could park..This condo took us back to the eighties, the beds were very very hard, we had to go to Costco and purchase a foam for it so we could sleep. The furniture was very tropical looking but again very uncomfortable to sit on. Appliances were great, but the one huge down fall was that we were not to run the air conditioners after 7pm and before 10 am which was the time we were in the condo. I would not reccomend this unit to anyone who has sleeping issues or back problems or who likes to be cool at night.

We stayed for 5 days just before Christmas and really enjoyed our stay. Kamaole III is right across the street and there are many amenities within walking distance. The condo itself was a two bedroom with a kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, washer/dryer and a nice sized balcony. The furniture was a bit dated and worn... but for the price this condo was an excellent value. We stayed in the back building in unit B304, and would definitely stay again.

We were very pleased with our stay here at Haleakela shores. Our property manager Susan was fantastic to deal with, she was very quick to respond to all of our needs. The condo was immaculately clean, had stainless steel appliances and wood laminate flooring through out. It was a lot more spacious then any other condos we've stayed at in South Kihei! The large lanai was huge, plenty enough room for a table and 4 chairs with room to move! We were thoughly impressed! We would definitely stay here again!

The Haleakala Shores Condos are NOT a commercial holiday development. They are privately rented out by SOME of the owners. There are 2 double bedrooms both with en-suite toilet and shower. Large living area with a pull out double bed. A reasonably sized kitchen is open plan to the living area. The development is at right angles to the beach so the balconies do not generally have a sea view. The beach is literally across the road from the building; even a condo at the far end is only 300 yards from a great beach. There is a swimming pool area with free gas barbecues. The "no glass" rule in the swimming pool area is very good but the 9.00pm closing time is a little frustrating. Parking is available either in the complex or just outside on the grass verge. The only slight criticism I have is that access to both the toilets is through a bedroom, so anyone sleeping in the living area has to go through a bedroom to get there. The condo we rented wasn't cheap but if shared between 5 or 6 people it wasn't too bad.

We had 5 wonderful days/nights on Maui island at this homely condo (A402). I would recommend Haleakala Shores to anyone who wants a comfortable, clean, Hawaiian-style condo to stay in. Loved that there were 2 separate air-con units in case it was too hot and also that you could split the condo into 2 totally separate bedrooms (each with their own bathroom) plus separate living area. Use of the beach chairs & snorkels was extremely useful too. Thanks very much for a great place to stay on this beautiful island!

Room Tip: A402 has the best view at the front of the building - ocean/beach is just across the road

We rented our condo through vrbo.com listing number 147209. Each unit is individually owned so the interiors can vary depending on what the owners have done. About a 15 -20 minute drive from airport.
It is an older complex with a central open air walkway that the units connect off of. There is an elevator to make the site handicap accessible. There is assigned parking for each unit.
An outdoor pool is solar heated and there are gas and coal BBQ's available. This is a smoke free and pet free complex. A complex manager lives on site to take care of emergency concerns. This site is across the street from Kamaole Beach III. If you are at the far end unit it would take about a 3 minute walk to be on the beach. A 5 minute walk to restaurants and a small convenience store.
This specific unit has been renovated so it has two distinct bedrooms. (Original units have a divider screen from the living room to make the second bedroom, not great for privacy)
Large kitchen with granite counters and all accessories to cook.
One bathroom has tub and shower, the other has a large walk-in shower.
Each bedroom and living room has their own air conditioners.
Washer and Dryer
King bed in one room, queen bed in the other.
Beach chairs and equipment supplied by owner.
Books and games if you want to stay in-doors
Ocean view from Lanai.
Free Wifi.
