We never visit Maui without going to Sansei. Reservations are recommended though. We usually bypass a crowd waiting for a table, without reservations. Not what you might expect from its 'strip mall' location. The manager Mike is usually on premises in the Kihei location. He is always cheerful and glad to remedy any shortcomings.
The variety of offerings is seemingly limitless, but many old favorites survive. They do advise you though that your food will come out 'as it is ready' which can mean a wait for sushi rolls on a busy night. Overall, very hard to beat. We also enjoy their other location in Kapalua, but it has a very different vibe.
