“half price late night sashimi”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

Great sashimi and sushi, half price after 10. Only drawback is having to listen to whatever karaoke is offering that night. Good aloha service, but be mindful the tip is already on the bill as a service charge and not always pointed out.

The sushi is fresh, the bartenders are very entertaining if you sit at the bar.
The Sake is warm...as it should be
The prices are reasonable, especially half price nights.

Be prepared to wait in line, but it is a sushi feast that is well worth the wait.

“Really really good sushi”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

Been here a few times and I can safely say some of the best sushi on Maui. The quality of the fish is excellent and the creativity of some of the rolls is impressive. They also have non-sushi fish dishes too. Very tasty fish, popular with locals and tourists alike. We'll probably end up going twice this trip. Prices are typical for a sushi restaurant. Restaurant itself a little bright, but better to be able to see the food than not I guess. Definitely recommend.

“Fresh, fresh, fresh”
Reviewed October 15, 2012 via mobile

Sansei is only open for dinner and is very busy. I would recommend making a reservation. We ate sushi and the fish was incredibly fresh and tender (except for the shrimp that was pre-cooked, it was a bit rubbery). The service was very good and the waiter verified that everything would be gluten free. Although the food and service were excellent, the price was high; however if you order before 6pm you can get a discount (if hey are running that special that day) just ask your server.

“Average Sushi, good service.”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Many people advised us to eat at this restaurant (even a few locals!) and I was fairly disappointed in the quality of sushi. The chefs rely on deep frying foods in attempt to differentiate themselves. While the typical rolls (Cali, Spicy tuna, Dynamite, etc.) are ok, the rest of the rolls lack creativity and are mediocre at best. If your looking for something new, fresh and high QUALITY sushi, I would not suggest going to Sansei, but if you are looking for familiarity, this is the place for you.
