What an amazing view !! Book here with your hotel concierge or in advance because you'll want one of the prime outdoor seats to catch the amazing sunset. This restaurant is kind of hard to find - its behind a motel but what a treat it is! We shared the risotto and a fish dish and it was amazing. Great wine suggestions you just cannot go wrong here!

We really enjoyed our dining experience at Sarento's. We had great service and the food was outstanding! I would highly recommend the gazpacho and the citrus panne cotta...delicious!

We actually arrived at the restaurant a full day earlier than our reservation (I blame Air Canada for changing our flight and the mid day Mai Tai!) but they were really understanding and after seating us at the bar for a drink and appetizer (it was happy hour) they were able to seat us at a beachside table with plenty of time to watch the sun set. For our entrees I had the Kobe beef meatballs and spaghetti, it was delicious and the potion size sufficient that I could enjoy some for lunch the following day; my boyfriend had the Mahi Mahi which he said was cooked perfectly and is his joint best meal of the trip (with Spago). The staff were very attentive but not intrusive and the view fantastic. Would definitely recommend it.

Although you can get decent meals in Kihei, there are no high quality gourmet restaurants as there are in Wailea -- with one exception -- Sarento's on the Beach ( owned in common with Nick's Fish Market at the Fairmont in Wailea). Sarento's is in the Wailea (south) end of Kihei -- so it is not in the somewhat tacky hub-bub of that town. The Sarento's sign is on the Days Inn sign, misleading some to believe it is associted with the inn -- it is not.
The Hawaian style food -- with an Italian flare -- is a culinary delight -- excellently prepared, beautifully presented, and wonderfully tasting. Sarento's compares favorably with Wailea's top restaurants ( e.g., Gannon's, Hummuhummunakanakaahii, Joe's, etc.). The service is impeccable -- more attentive and professional than any of the Wailea restaurants. A great attraction of Sarento's is that it is right on the water with better views than the high end Wailea restaurants -- a dinner at sunset is a memorable experience. Somewhat expensine, but well worth it.

On a recent business trip I found out old friends were in the area we met at Sarento's for sunset and dinner. We were given a lovely table on the patio right next to the beach. The view was phenomenal. The service is wonderful with at least four people attending to our needs. When we asked for something no matter who was waiting on us they got it for us. Sometimes in restaurants when you ask the runner for more drinks they say I can't get that or I will tell your waiter. This food runner got us drinks and anything else we wanted.
The food is a good mix of Italian and Island. Fish prepared with a tapinade was great. Desserts decadent.

Highly recommend

Thank Martha B
