We went here on a recommendation from a local Maui resident. It is tucked away in front of the Days Inn but don't let that dissuade you. The beachfront views are great! We went with two other couples and some of us wanted Italian and some wanted Maui seafood. This was a great compromise because Sarento's has both. I had the skillet chicken which was cooked to perfection. It had prosciutto and cheese in it but not too much, just right. My wife had the clams and linguine, again very good and flavorful. Others had the Kobe meatball spaghetti, the porcini rubbed grilled ahi, etc. Even better than the food was the service! This is the kind of place where the water glass never gets to half capacity before someone is refilling it. We were staying in Wailea at the Fairmont so the drive was a quick one, under 3 miles or so. Would definitely go again.

Good food and service are offered at this very nice restaurant right on the beach. Everything arrives promptly and is served in an attractive way. We choose the clam linguini dish and enjoyed Manila clams served with Parmesan sauce. Very nice. The salad we shared was generous. The prices are similar to the resort prices charged all along this beach.

We had breakfast here this morning and it was priced about average for a nice meal. Dinner was another matter. If you want to pay upward of $30. for a simple meal complete with ostentatious waiters who even ramble on about a slice of bread, then this is the place for you. I was apalled that they could charge the prices they had listed on their menu. Families came into this restaurant from the beach. A Day's Inn hotel is next door. Please, please don't even think about eating here unless you can afford a second mortgage, This place was highway robbery and they should be ashamed of their prices. I had chicken and mashed potatoes for $30. My husband's meal was $38. for a piece of fish and some vegetables. There are better places to eat than here.

I returned to Sarento's to enjoy their happy hour as I have been there for dinner previously and was extremely disappointed. Food was good. Skip the osso bucco pot stickers. Ahi is excellent. Yes they were busy but we were clearly ignored as the rest of the bar and table were diligently served except us. Had to approach the bar directly for service and never did receive bread appie as was given to others and very little, if any, service. The head bartender, Barbara was very nice and asked us to come back and would make it up to us. We will think about it.

Continuing our search for a great Sunday breakfast after church on Sunday, we finally made it to this great "on the beach" restaurant. They only serve breakfast until 11 am, so get there before then. It would be nice if they would stay open until at least noon or 1pm.
Three of us had the "meat lover's" omelet and my wife had the veggie omelet, and I must say that it was so far the best omelet I have had on the Island! It was nicely moist and chock full of meat topped off with a tasty pepper jack cheese. They also are the only place we have been that actually has "shredded" hash brown potatoes! Every other place we have been has the typical "breakfast" potatoes. Service was very good, and they give you a thermos carafe of coffee at the table which is great for a coffee drinker like me. You don't have to wait around for a refill like at most restaurants. If you are looking for a great Sunday breakfast menu, not the typical overpriced Sunday brunch offered at most of the South Maui resorts, Sarento's is the place to go.
