“All Expectations Met”
Reviewed July 24, 2008

We stumbled on this establishment by looking for good sushi on Maui. After reading reviews we gave this little place a try. WOW! What an experience. A small place with seating for about 10-14 people, mostly at the bar. The owner did not disappoint in regards to the freshness, quality and swiftness of the food. The Toro, Maguro, Eel, Mackerel, Yellowtail, etc. exceeded expectations. If you are on Maui anywhere on Maui, make the effort to go, you will not be disappointed. Suggestion, go to 4 Seasons Hotel for drinks and sunset and then on to the best sushi!

“Incredible Sushi - A Must Try”
Reviewed May 28, 2008

Koiso was fantastic. The food is incredible and it's not your typical Kehei tourist trap. The sushi was top-notch and the price was reasonable. My wife and I had three sushi rolls and two fresh fish (tuna and salmon) trays and the price was only $34. The sushi was some of the best we've had before. The place is small, but the service is great. They don't attract a big tourist crowd, since we were the only non-Japanese speaking diners, but that should also indicate the authenticity of the food. You won't be disappointed.

“Best Sushi Ever!”
Reviewed April 23, 2008

We gave Koiso a try based on the reviews on tripadvisor-- this was definately the BEST sushi we ever had (we've eaten sushi at many restaurants). It's very laid back and the owners are extremely friendly! The establishment is tiny, but more than makes up in the sushi and great service, which is what really counts! We liked it so much, we ate their twice during our honeymoon-- highly recommended!

“A small diamond”
Reviewed April 10, 2008

When you first walk in here, you may wonder - is this really a good sushi bar? It is quite small, limited menu, and very unpretentious. At first you may question your choice of dining here, however, you will not question your choice after you bite into the freshest piece of fish. It is pure sushi bliss. The fish melts in your mouth like a piece of butter. We went through nearly the entire menu, and did not dislike a single thing. The prices may be a little high (well, hey - you are in Maui), but it is well worth it. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. Enjoy!
