Stopped in here for lunch last week. It was a great find since we were all hungry when we arrived. My dad ordered tofu pad thai. My husband had the shrimp green curry (which I wanted to steal!) and I had the chicken larb. Everything was fresh and delicious. It was an unexpected stop for us since we were not expecting much. Service was a little slow but I expect that while in Hawaii. The thai iced tea was tasty. I wish this restaurant was near my house because I would go every week.

Everything we had was amazing. We were out wandering after Whale Days and found this gem. We had the special, a red curry with noodles, the Ahi Larb a Thai style Poke and Panang curry with Mahi and it all was amazing. The Thai Iced Tea was free refills...what a deal!!! Overall GREAT place in an awkward location

We had the cashew chicken & Masaman curry with mahi mahi. Both were good, but the Masaman better. The sauce was outstanding, the fish fresh & the sticky rice went perfectly with it, receiving the sauce perfectly. Portions were small & prices high, but hey, this is Hawaii. The food was outstanding. I would eat here again. It gets busy, so I'd recommend you make a reservation (OpenTable works) just in case...

Five of us were searching for a tasty reasonably priced restaurant to go to for a casual dining experience. Maui Thai Bistro fit that description 'spot on'. Hidden at the back of the Rainbow Mall, we were pleasantly surprized to find a warm, welcoming and well lit restaurant with modern decor, which was calm and conducive to conversation, even though it was crowded. We were glad that we made a reservation for dinner, as there were people lined up waiting to get in. Everything we ordered was delicious; the steamed summer vegetable rolls with peanut sauce, the Tofu Pad Thai, the green vegetable curry and the beef drunken rice noodles (Pad Kimao). The service was excellent as well. Portions were ample, so we had to forego dessert. Our friends, who had been here before, raved about the Mango sticky rice for dessert, but we will have to save that for next time.

Be sure to make a reservation, this restaurant fills quickly. I always consider service secondary to the food, and both were fine, but not outstanding. The appetizer we ordered to share, Green Papaya Salad, was SUPER hot from the chillis. We ordered mild, the server wrote mild on the order, and yet it came to the table super hot, and left our lips and tongues very, very tingly for 5 minutes after we stopped eating this dish. When we pointed out the seeming discrepancy between the specified level of heat, and the heat in the dish served to us, the young female server just repeated that she had ordered it mild, in fact showing us the order on her computer. It was apparent that she was avoiding blame, not seeking to fix the problem. So, we just gave up and when one of the men, who are clearly the decision makers in this restaurant, asked about our food as we were paying the check, we told him of the problem and he immediately removed the offending dish from our bill. A reasonabe solution at one level, but better to have given us another order that was properly seasoned at the beginning of our meal. By the time a restaurant is comping food, it is a problem. About the other food we ordered: The seafood salad is a bunch of Costco greens, some with brown edges, some uncooked shrimp, and really strong mussels that were not listed as an ingredient on the menu. An ok dish, not special. The Tom Yum lemon grass soup had excellent flavor, and if the shrimp had been cooked faster so they were not rubbery, it would have been truly memorable. We will give this restaurant another chance and try the spring rolls.
