Thank you for a very good meal. Service friendly and efficient. Menu extensive. And in Maui a reasonably priced meal.

We had read reviews of Stella Blues, and we decided to have breakfast our first day on the island. We stayed in Wailea so Keihi was only a short drive. It was a great choice, and we ate there at least 2 more times. The omelete was great, and the banana & mac nut pancakes with coconut syrup was to die for. On the lighter side, the 1/2 papaya with fresh yogurt and granola was so good. Their burgers were just perfect. Had to make ourselves try other places, but this was one of the best.

No matter what we order its always good. We usually go for breakfast, but sometimes lunch too. I always order the special because Its always good. Good environment, good service, good food. That's all I need. They throw alot of really good event or dinner and a show combo's. Highly suggested to try one of these.

We've traveled to Maui annually for several years and each time have eaten at SB at least once. But each year we locate new places and in comparison SB has decreased in our opinion, to mediocre. We were walk-ins around 6:30 pm and so we couldn't get an outdoor table although several cleared out during our meal. So we wound up being seated under the AC and it was chilly. Service was slow and our server's greeting was "everybody came at the same time." He clearly had a large section but that should not be our problem. I ordered a Caesar salad ($8); the romaine was tough, the croutons tiny, and the dressing tasteless. I also ordered the burger ($12) which is local grass-fed beef, with sautéed mushrooms ($2). The burger was overlooked and the mushrooms were cold; the fries were very good. One guest had the yellow curry ($17) which is a standard and consistent with prior visits but they still charge extra even for tofu ($2). Another guest had the Greek salad ($7) with the same tough lettuce, very little feta and overpowering red onion (you'd think they'd start using Maui sweets for a local twist but no) and the crab cakes appetizer (2 small cakes with a red cabbage slaw for $14) that arrived cold although nuking them was swift. The final guest had the fish and chips ($16) which were 3 smallish pieces of heavily battered unknown fish ( the only "special" which is never different was mahimahi with antler price of $30 which is huge comparatively), a small bowl of slaw and the same fries I was served - non-US travelers do not expect "chips". No dessert, coffee or tea was offered and the bill ($100 w tax/tip) was collected unceremoniously. The best thing that came to the table was their sourdough loaf but little butter, which came only when my salad was served, leaving us nothing for about 15 minutes. The menu as far as I can tell hadn't change in all the years. So don't expect anything chef-created here; it's all line cooks churning out the same standards and apparently with less than consistent results. $100 without drinks easily can be outdone at many island places today. Very little value left.

We ordered one drink from the bar, they got it wrong. Our water glasses were never refilled. After we received our drinks, the waiter said he'd be right back to take our orders. Fifteen minutes later we asked the hostess what happened to our waiter. After being there an hour and ten minutes, we finally received our food.

The steaks were over-done. Side dishes were cold. Overall quality was fair.

The atmosphere was so-so. I expected an exciting music themed atmosphere but got a barely audible muzak background sound.

This was NOT a good Maui experience.
