Only stayed with Patti and Don for four nights and we wish we could have stayed longer - a lovely and very relaxed place, the owners are making you feel right at home. Any questions you might have, they go out of their way to help you! Our room was small but very well equipped with fridge, fan and lots of towels (also beachtowels). It got very hot in the room though, even with the fan going so if you prefer it a little cooler you might want to enquire about rooms with aircon (not sure whether they have any). Breakfast is self-serve with fresh fruit, yoghurt, snacks, breadrolls AND Pattis wonderful cakes and breads - she has incredible baking skills making you look forward to every breakfast :). All day snack corner was great and there's also a coin operated laundry and dryer at the back. We were invited to their wonderful Saturday night's dinner - the best American hamburgers you could wish for, thanks so much, it was incredibly yummy!!
Don't be put off by the exterior which is a little messy we thought - this guesthouse is super super clean (we've stayed at quite a few places where the kitchen and bathroom were rooms you did not want to enter - this was the complete opposite!) and sharing two bathrooms between for guestrooms was absolutely no problem, they were always immaculate! Not far from the sea or some nice restaurants & shops.
Thanks Don & Patti, we hope to be back sometime soon :)

This was our first visit to Maui and Hawaii in general so we didn't know what to expect in terms of accommodation. Anapa Place B&B turned to be a great choice for our 5 night stay in this area of the island. First, the location in south Kihei is very central and easily accessible from the airport (around 30min drive). The house is on a quiet street close enough to the main road, in the deep shade of big trees and surrounded with beautiful gardens. We were staying in the Front Room, a small but clean and comfy room with a fridge, lanai and private entrance.

The owners, Patti and Dan are wonderful people, simple, sincere and caring. Once a week they prepare a great home-made dinner with drinks for all guests. Breakfast is continental and available throughout the day in the kitchen area. It always includes fresh fruit and some of Patti’s baked specialties like different kinds of banana bread and brownies, which are delicious. Beach equipment is available to borrow, as well as travel books. For 69$ per night, this was a great deal. We truly felt like visiting a family.

If we happen to come again, we would stay in the Master Suite with a private bathroom and queen bed, just a bit more space and privacy. Our only suggestion to the hosts is to enhance their website with some pictures and links, it doesn’t do the justice to this lovely accommodation.

Mahalo Patti & Don!

Anapa Place Inn is a true B & B in the European sense. It is ran by two caring people who do their best to make sure your visit is comfortable. The breakfast is continental style except it last all day. There are always snacks and cakes available. They will loan you coolers, boogie boards, beach chairs and many other useful items. The off street parking is easy and convenient. The room we stayed in is called the "Master Suite" and we highly recommend it. Everything about it is first rate with a large private bathroom, fridge, cable and excellent wireless internet. BIG DEAL "it is really clean," Patty really understands clean. The small private lanai is wonderful to relax on. We saw the other rooms and they are fine too, just no bath in the room. However, for four rooms there are two baths and some of the rooms are singles. The B & B is in a large house in a neighborhood (like many we have stayed in in Europe) and is a easy walk to the center of Kihei. There is a terrific grocery store in Kihei called "Foodland" that has everything you could ask for, including sushi. We compared their prices with Walmart and the difference are so minor, Walmart is not worth the drive. The center of Kihei has dozens of good places to eat. You really could take a bus to Anapa Place and have a great time on foot eating and beach fun right in Kihei. Kihei is our favorite area on Maui.

Now the most important thing - Patty and Don. They are truly nice people who will do everything possible to make your visit pleasant. They cook a dinner for all the guest on Saturday night and it is really cool. Don cooked "sloppy joes" the Saturday we were there. The Saturday dinner is a social as well as food event. We stayed nine days and it was very pleasant.

The only thing to consider is this is NOT the Hilton with a big lobby, air conditioning (not needed on Maui) and a concierge, it is a small personnel B & B. We enjoy staying in both, however, make sure you prepare for differences. We recommend it if you enjoy the B & B experience. Anapa Place is an outstanding value.

Room Tip: Relax and enjoy it.

We stayed in the master room (April 6-20) and had the best two week vacation ever! Patti and Don (owners) were fine people and wonderful hosts. They know how to run a bed and breakfast!
Everything you would need is supplied. Beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel equipment, towels and coolers.
Patti bakes excellent goodies and you even have the full use of the great kitchen. Patti and Don hosted a great dinner night on Saturday and the lasagna was delicious.
I will recommend this Inn to everyone that is planning to go to Maui. We hope to get back in the future. Thanks again Patti and Don.

Room Tip: Master gives you your own bathroom but all the rooms there are great.

I found the Anapa Place Inn on Craigslist which isn't somewhere I had ever looked for lodging before. I wasn't sure exactly what I would find when we arrived in Maui. There was nothing to worry about though. Don and Patti were wonderful hosts. The location is great, the price is great, and it was an excellent time. Saturday dinner with the other guests was fun and we made some new friends. If I get back to Maui again Anapa Place Inn is on the top of my list of places to stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the master suite for three nights of my first trip to Maui. The house is in a residential area, and I was a bit unsure as we approached; there is a covered pool table in the front yard and no signage for the inn. But Patti is a welcoming host and the room was pleasant and clean, with its own sliding door entrance and small lanai. There is a flat screen tv with all sorts of channels and a refrigerator. The bathroom had toiletries and extra towels. Beach towels are provided, coolers are also available. It feels more like staying at someone's house than a traditional B&B. There is coffee, fruit, cereal, and yogurt available for breakfast, as well as a variety of snacks and baked treats made by Patti. There is an upstairs deck with a grill, and you can use the kitchen too. Patti makes dinner for everyone on Saturday night, and the guests can meet each other. The neighbors were having a party with a live band the Saturday we were there. I was nervous about the noise, but they didn't play very late and there was live entertainment during dinner. Patti and Don have lived in Kihei for a long time and we enjoyed hearing their stories about the island. Dinner was beef stew and homemade bread. The bread was so good! Another guest had a birthday during their stay, and Patti baked a cake for them. She and Don are really welcoming hosts. We could hear some noise from the guest next door to us, but overall we had a good stay. A great choice for those on a budget.

Hard to tell you much more than what has already been said in reviews but here are a few tidbits:

* Patti and Don, your hosts, are what make this place such an amazing experience.
* your hosts invested their money on the inside and making you feel very welcome like your own home
* what may not have been said yet on reviews:

- Internet reception is excellent, always a plus for any personal or business work that needs to get done
- each room has a slider door to your private patio/lanai which is a great place to relax with a glass of wine, read a book, etc.
- Foodland Supermarket is 2 blocks, Starbucks is 3 blocks, the "Triangle" (bars, shops, etc.) 2 blocks, Charlie Young Beach is about 1/2 mile, rental surf & stand-up boards at the "Cove" 3 blocks, excellent happy hours in the Triangle, two excellent restaurants in the Triangle in Kihei Cafe for breakfast and Pita Paradise for lunch (get the lamb pita)
- the Inn has a very nice deck on up on the side of the roof in the back, private and very nice especially at night
- your hosts serve dinner every Saturday night, besides enjoying their great cooking, it's a great way to meet the other folks in the house (you will meet a mix of foreighnors, Canadians, & folks from the US)
- 5 rooms for rent, from 49 - 89 dollars, only one has private bath (the Master)....then the other 4 rooms are split 2 each on each side of the house, each 2 rooms share a bath on that side of the house and the most you will share the room with, including your room, is 4 people, the other bath is available for your use if your assigned bath is in use
- used books in two good size boxes, leftover suntan lotion, beach chairs, coolers, etc. for your use during your stay
- full kitchen for your use, make whatever you want...refrigerators in each room, great towels and linens

Why Kihei......great beaches, convenient and shorter drive to airport and Costco/Walmart, not nearly as windy or as cloudy as the Kaanapali / Kapalua side of the island.....great place to learn to surf or stand-up paddle board (right down the street in the Cove area) for adults and kids

Lastly, I have a son who has lived in Kihei for 3 years now, during our vists we have done the hotel, a condo, stayed w/the son, and now this Inn. By far this Inn is the best place we have stayed for convenience, experience, and value.

Have a great time in Maui no matter where you stay, enjoy!

John & Carole, Boise, Idaho
