We just got back from two weeks at the Kihei Beach Resort and absolutely loved it.
The best points about the condo:
* The View: The first thing that strikes you when you walk into the condo is the fantastic view of the ocean and nearby islands. It’s absolutely magical.
* The Beach: The beach that the condo is on is fantastic and highly under rated – it is long and easily walkable with great swimming. Unlike some of the more famous beaches, the beach was never very crowded. It was perfect for romantic walks. The area by the beach is setup very nicely so you can choose to sit under the palm trees if you are getting too much sun. The ocean in front of the condo is very calm so you don’t really need it, but I loved the pool too.
* The Farmer’s Market Across the Street: We loved the farmer’s market and went almost every day it was open. We loved eating fresh pineapple or papaya for breakfast on the lanai. Not only did it taste great, it was a wonderful money saver on our trip, because Maui can be very expensive.
* The Location: We really enjoyed exploring the island, and this was a great location to do that from. Unlike some of the resort areas, it never took us that long to get anywhere. It was great to get up in the morning, throw our snorkeling gear in the car, and go exploring.
I would definitely go back. We had an amazing time.

First - we loved the fact there were no crowds. We could go south to Wailea or north to Kaanapali if we wanted. It was totally under our control -not like we had to avoid anyone.

Second - the unit was great. We worked with a travel agent who knew the condo and specifically gave us one she had stayed in. It was recently remodeled and was in perfect shape. The front desk folks were fine. There was also a card for a local activity company in the room; they were able to set us up with a few things we wanted to do.

We recommend shopping at the new Safeway supermarket - ask for directions. We cooked out a few times, and it was great to have most restaurants nearby. There's a good mix of local (5 Palms) and chain (Outback) restaurants.

The complex itself was perfect. It's right on the ocean with a great little pool. We walked every morning on the beach, read the paper after that, then decided whether to hang out or take a drive. Make sure you visit Mama's. It's an expensive tourist spot - but worth the view and the food.

Bottome line - a great gem that is worth the price, and the stay. We're booked in for next year - can hardly wait to come back!

We stayed at the resort for our honeymoon in January of this year. The condo company did not even tell us how to get into the unit upon arriving around 11:30. The bed in the unit had to be at least 15 years old, and it was generally dirty when we got there.

I would not recommend this complex to anyone, so many places to go in Maui why stay where the roosters and traffic wake you up at 7:30 every morning. The only thing I liked was the ocean view and the pool was kept up nice. I think for $180US a night they might have even taken a slight interest in asking how things were when we checked out. I will be back to Maui but not staying at this place.
