If you go, you definitely need a reservation. No reservation means no table. This is a small, intimate, local restaurant providing excellent Japanese food at reasonable non-hotel prices. If you want some flare, go somewhere else. If you want great food with locals, this is the place. The sushi is as fresh as anywhere. The miso butter fish melts in your mouth. The vegetarian set really fills you up. And if you go for either the shabu shabu or sukiyaki, you will not be disappointed at all and then you can roll out to your car. We've been here five years running when we are in Kihei.
