This ended up being the beach on Maui that we spent the most time. The water was calm enough that the kids could play in it with out much worry. There was some good snorkeling that was easy to swim out to and sand that was perfect for building sand sculptures and castles.

We went to this beach on a Friday afternoon and it felt like a local community beach with several school trips - not a problem if that is what you are expecting but certainly didn't feel like the secluded, restful experience we had at other Maui beaches.

Right next to park, where you can shower off the sand before heading back to the condo. Not too crowded, great place to watch the sunset

A lovely park nestled between the shore (mixing rocks and sandy beaches at the foot of a medium size bluff), with barbecue pits. A favorite place for family outings on weekends. Good snorkeling (turtles and lots of fish) in warm water and no "undertoe" currents. The place feels safe and friendly. Lots of water birds in the lush greenery on the slopes of the bluff. Fine white sand. A good place. No problem parking (unlike at Kamaole Beaches 1 and 2). A relaxed afternoon and evening. Family friendly place. Good beach house with clean facilities. No life guard on duty that Sunday in January.

Gorgeous views of blue skies, mountains & clouds over the cascading waves.
Soft warm sands underneath your toes.
Wonderful coral & rock formations & all forms of sea life thriving on it, in it & all around it.
My best snorkeling was at this beach during this trip!
Huge waves while we were there this time, still, many people enjoyed all kinds of water sports.
There's a bathroom & picnic facilities.
