Description: Established in 2008. Taqueria Cruz is a fourth & fifth generation family-owned and operated business which was first established by our great-grandparents in the beautiful Wine Country of the Napa Valley. Our family got into the restaurant business in 1951, building a warm and successful eatery from the ground up, and we are willing to bet that they never imagined all of their hard work and love for cooking would one day reach beyond the vineyards and blossom on the beautiful island of Maui. We are very proud of our family history as well as our culture, and we know you will taste the love in our food. So please come and let us share with you what they have shared with us. From our family to yours, the love and aloha of Taqueria Cruz.

“Nice Saturdays”

Tok in the live music which was aguy, a guitar and his voice last saturday and was impressed. $6 taco dinner was plentiful and BYOB was a lovely option for a cheap din. It's at the back of a strip mall so much less than a place you'd take your first date (unless she had good scope and you were impressive later in the night), but for a decent stop for a dinner and drink with some live sounds, it's worth the $6 each on the Saturday special with nice folks serving.

“It's okay”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

We went for Taco Tuesday, $2 tacos. The tacos are good, but very small. Also quite greasy. We only went here because the wait at Fred's Mexican Cafe was over an hour long. We wish we would have tried Maui Tacos, too. We would go again, but not our first choice.

“Hidden away gem...”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

I've only had lunch here a few times, as I live on the other side of Maui...and not about to drive 30+ minutes for lunch, no matter how ono it is...yup I hear you mainlanders lol at me... :_)

anyhow had my fav thing here...enchilada plate w/one chicken and one cheese and the sauce split between the red and green...this is offered to you, and on their burritos too...no extra chg for splitting...

well it's outdoor/under cover seating, quiet 'strip mall' w/a few other food outlets, this being I think the longest one to date...

rice, okay...nothing special..

refried beans...I would say they are pretty far from the 'normal' refried beans you'll find at other Mexican outlets...theirs are still whole pinto beans w./the Mexican version of feta crumbled across the top for that added zip...

enchiladas were both good...the chicken is shredded...always a good sign and the cheese one was plentiful...they don't have a salsa bar per se, but they do have about 15 different bottles of hot sauce on the counter...and they give what I guess you'd call their version of salsa fresca on the plate...

cost was 10$, which seems to be the cost of pretty much any luncheon on Maui, esp at the food courts (sit down/waiter service you can add minimum of 2>3 per order)...

so all in all is quite tasty...staff is pleasant and happy to 'have it your way' and they have both been there for long time...

it's in the Dolphin Plaza in the back...as others have said look for the person holding a daily special sign out front...BYOB is fine...

“Fish tacos no good. Rude service. Just ok overall.”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

Well first the menu on this site is wrong. So dont go by it prices are about double. Well start with the fish tacos dry no seasoning no flavor . No sauce on them either just a piece of fish and nothing else. Next was enchiladas. They were 4.00 each and each one was literally 3 small bites. Beans were good rice was average. Overall not a real value for the money but flavor was good on enchiladas. Everything else was less then avg and fish tacos we didnt eat.

“Delicious food”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

My husband and I were surprised how good the food was. We ordered the chicken flautas, fish tacos and chips and salsa. OMG it was so good. We ended up going there two nights later and had the beef wet burrito and the beef flautas and again it was so so good. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. They do have taco tuesdays but we missed out as we were leaving on Saturday. So if you see the guy or gal standing by the corner advertising taco tuesdays, go for it, you won't be disappointed.
