The fish tacos were good. I would have gotten one to share if I had known how big they were. Very tasty. Busy place though, Hard to find a place to sit on a friday

We've probably been to Coconuts over a dozen times since they opened and had never been disappointed. This trip, however, left us wondering if the magic has worn off. We waited in line for about 10 minutes before ordering our fish tacos and coconut shrimp. The place was mobbed, and the counter clerk told me that they had broken their all time one day revenue record about 15 minutes earlier. And the line was still out the door, so it was a crazy busy day for the staff, to be sure.

When the food arrived, the shrimp tasted heavier than usual, and did not have the light, delicate breading we're used to. My guess is that they were left in the fryer a bit too long, or the oil was a bit old. Still good, but not as good as in the past.

The biggest disappointment was the tacos. The fish was so overcooked they were hard, dry fish nuggets. I pulled them out and ate the taco sans fish, which was still messy and tasty, and the tortillas crispy. You still need a fork to pick up all the fixings that fall out as you're trying to eat them, but you need the fish to get the total flavor experience.

Although efficient and friendly, maybe the staff was struggling with the customer load, maybe it was because the boss wasn't there, or maybe the quality has simply declined, either way, it will probably be our last meal at Coconuts. I haven't tried LeiLani's yet, but for the price (half), quality (delicious), and ambiance (strip mall v. taco truck?), we'll take Horhitos Taco Truck any day - and you can finish off your tacos with a trip to Local Boys Shave Ice. A perfect combination.

And I forgot to mention Coconuts got their water dispenser's foul taste fixed, so it's now safe to order a cup of water with your meal.

Had heard that Coconut's was popular, so expected a big wait, but didn't happen. Put in our order, found a seat and were eating amazing fish tacos in no time. One taco was enough to fill me up, so took the second home and had it for lunch. Double yum!

The best fish tacos ever!!! Not much more to say. The staff are excellent and very attentive. Our family went back on two other occasions and tried several other menu items, all very good as well. Portions are enormous so go with a healthy appetite.

Best fish tacos ever, plenty to eat and reasonably priced. Love the casual decor with surf board shaped tables.
