“Best fish tacos”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014 via mobile

We were very happy with our fish tacos. The service and ocean-front dining experience was excellent!

We returned the next day for breakfast. They offer super-size pancakes; too bad coffee was weak.

“Good Food, Great Ocean View, Okay Service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014

We went on Tuesday night and it was Taco Tuesday so all the tacos were on happy hour. It was really busy and our service was only okay. I waited tables for about 8 years in college and high school so I am a lot more forgiving and understanding after years of busy nights. Our server just seemed to want to talk to her friends more than earn money.

The tacos were pretty good. They didn't skimp on the size so I felt like I got my money's worth and left full and happy. I had chicken taco, carne asada taco and a side of rice that I shared with my husband. He had a shrimp taco, fish taco, and carne asada taco and said all were good as well. My 7 year old had a ground beef taco that she devoured. The chips and salsa are also really good.

Overall, we would go again on a Taco Tuesday night and just hope for a server who at least tried to hide when ignoring us instead of openly ignoring us. I would have rated it higher if the service was better. The view from the patio is great. You can see the ocean and sunset.

“Riding on the reviews”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

Lots of positive reviews led us to Fred's thinking it would be great for a fun night out. Not a good choice. I would try Coconuts if you are considering this place. Our server was dirty (kid of hard to say that about someone) and had a body odor problem. The floor was littered with food products and cutlery. Watch where you walk. Margueritas were were thin and watered. One chicken chimichanga came with little chicken -- really little, you had to search for it. All the servers seemed unhappy or stressed. Perhaps they are feeling the pinch like all of us but cutting back on drinks, food, service and cleanliness leaves little left. Don't go. It's not worth it.

“Fun place for cheap tacos and a sunset”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2014

This is a nice funky place right on the ocean road in Kihei, Maui. Go 45 minutes before sunset on a Tuesday and you'll be able to sit across the street at the beach and watch the sunset before the buzzer they give you will signal that it's time to go into the restaurant. The tacos on Tuesdays are only $3 or $4 each (the regular menu is available, too), and even some of the drinks are cheap. Parking may not be easy -- not enough spots adjacent, and they're really tight to get into. But it's a good spot, and nice for families. A good selection of different types of tacos, too.

“Go Early for Taco Tuesday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2014

We went for Taco Tuesday and the food was great and it was an excellent value on Tuesday. Go as soon as they open on Tuesday if you can so you don't have to wait, and try to get a table in the front of the restaurant with a view of the ocean. Get a variety of tacos (served family style) so you can all share different types of tacos.
