Amazing day of hiking at Haleakala NP. We walked the Sliding Sands trail from the summit into the crater, then we drove down the mountain a little way and hiked through the clouds to Rainbow Bridge. After about 3 hours of hiking, we had a great lunch at Hosmer Grove and walked the nature trail where we saw several species of native birds.

This tour is a fantastic way to see the national park, get some exercise, and learn all about Maui's culture, history, and ecology. We had so much fun and I can't say enough about Delphine who was so friendly and knowledgeable. The day after our trip, she even emailed us with recommendations for other things to do on Maui.

I'm new to the hobby of Birding or Ornithology, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It's never fun to be the slow person in the group, and my fellow tour guests all seemed very knowledgeable and experienced. But our guide made me feel very comfortable, she was both informative and enthusiastic, without any awkwardness with my lack of knowledge.
It was a comfortable luxury ride up to Haleakala national park, where we saw lots of different species (most of them a 1st sighting for me). We continued to check out other sites around the island that I had either never been to, or at least never stopped there to appreciate the diverse birds and wildlife.
Overall a really fun day, my first adventure in the Birding world, and I couldn't have picked a better tour.
