“Great location and wonderful hosts!!”
Reviewed September 30, 2008

Eva (and Jack) couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming! They are a great resource for local attractions and restaurants, and Eva can make arrangements for you. We truly felt like this was "home away from home" during our stay - VERY comfortable! Great breakfasts: plenty to choose from and always delicious! Appreciated having wifi and printing (for boarding passes), free laundry, beautiful garden with fountain, outdoor table/chairs and gas grill, beach towels, coolers, books, DVD's, and the keyless, private entrance. Great location: a nice walk to the beaches and Kihei restaurants/shops; easy drive to other attractions. We'll be back!

If you enjoy fantastic breakfasts and beautiful gardens this might be the right place for you, but don't be surprised when you arrive with your tired toddler at 3 PM and your room is not ready. You also shouldn't mind a strong mold odor in the bathroom and sticky floors throughout the "suite". And be prepared to share your room with ants, cockroaches, and mice. It might happen to you, too... On a positive note, Eva is a friendly hostess and free beach gear is available for guests.

If you are going to Maui you have to stay here. Seriously. This place was amazing!!! We arrived and my first thoughts were that the pictures totally did not do the place justice. It was beautiful! We stayed in the Garden Suite which had nice gardens outside the patio window and the bedroom window. Our suite had a separate bedroom, living room with a couch and chair which were both futons, bathroom and a kitchen! Our experience here was everything I had hoped for and more. We had a delicious breakfast daily, and Eva (hostess) also had for our use free: washer/dryer, boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, beach chairs, umbrellas, wifi, and more! Eating breakfast on the lanai with the beautiful views was great! We had a 3yo daughter and this property was a perfect fit for us.

We spent 6 nights at this B&B and loved every minute of it! The property was well-kept, clean and definitely user friendly. Eva and Jim were wonderful hosts and seemed to be there when we needed their input and not there when you wanted to have a romantic dinner on the lanai at sunset. We thoroughly enjoyed the proximiity of the area to all activities from the Ocean to the mountains/crater. The hosts were very helpful, knowledgeable and went above and beyond with things like providing detergent for the laundry, internet access and printer, shampoo/qtips/aloe, beach chairs, coolers, basic snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, dvd & book collection and of course a basket of microwave popcorn to indulge with your movie. We used their gas grill and enjoyed having the kitchen in our unit as we tended only to eat out once every day or two, choosing local seafood, farmers market fruits and veggies and indulgencing in Eva's delicious breakfasts - always had cereal, yogurt, fruit, coffee, juice, snacks PLUS a hot dish which was on a whim each morning - crepes, waffles w/ berried and cocunut ice cream, pumpkin pancakes with cream and on and on. We felt at home with friends but in paradise. Debi and Brandon

When we contacted What a Wonderful World B&B) in February we we told there were no vacancies and were referred by the proprietor to another unit owned by a colleague at the Kihei Shores. We paid her $788.52, which included a $120 cleaning fee, a portion of which was to be returned to us, based on the condition of the unit when we left. After returning home, we contacted her about the refund and were informed that the unit was left in a "mess" and was a "disaster," that the owner "spent 7 and 1/2 hours to clean the unit," that "it was not left in a condition suitable to be rented out to the next customer," and therefore, none of the cleaning fee was to be returned. When we asked what was meant by "mess" and "disaster," we were provided with exaggerated and petty complaints about what was the result of normal use of a facility. There was nothing unusual about how the apartment was left.

In the first place, we were never informed of the expectation that the unit had to be left in a rentable condition, which is highly unreasonable to say the least. Other vacation lodging that we have obtained n Kihei do not charge a cleaning fee and do not require that the guest perform the entire cleaning of the premises himself. Moreover, it is not clear whether the owner was licensed by the state to rent this property as vacation accommodation. If not, then this transaction may have been illegal.

Since there is nothing to prevent the owner from making false and exaggerated claims about the condition of the property), and since the conditions for receiving a refund were NOT clearly explained and is highly unreasonable an expectation designed to assure failure of compliance, and since the claim that it took more than 7 hours to clean a 2 bedroom apartment is not credible, we will avoid this listing in the future.

This B and B was terrific. Great central location in Maui, the breakfasts were out of this world. Rooms were clean and Eva serves the
best breakfasts (homemade crepes, apple pancakes, and fired freanch toast oh my!). If you are looking for a nice clean place to stay that's affordable, you have found it. Don't look elsewhere. Eva and her husband were very sweet and accomadating.

This was our first B&B experience and what a great one! We are time share owners but when we do go back to Maui we will make a point of booking with this B&B.

Eva was a wonderful host and we feel like she is now a friend. I have never wanted to hug a resort employee or any other hotel employee when leaving but after a few days with Eva you do feel like you are leaving a good friend!

The breakfast's were different and very good, coffee was great, and it was fun meeting the other guests on the Lania. Our room was very nice as well. The location is good also.

I talked to Eva about the two negative reviews and I do not want to disclose any personal info but I do know enough that they should not be a concern to anyone. Our stay and the Wonderful World B&B really added to our great vacation.

And Eva has probably spoiled us as what to expect in a B&B. In fact our next stay on our trip was a horrible experience with a B&B in Kauai.
