We recently spent a week in one of these cottages. It was clean, efficient, and the staff were wonderful. I think next time we'd select one of the cottages back from Kihei Road, as it seems to stay busy all the time - but then again we wouldn't have quite the sunsets we lingered over every evening.

It's a really convenient location, the grounds are beautiful, and we loved it.

Aloha David,

Yes those sunsets are spectacular and to watch them from the comfort of your front porch is special. But then again, the beach is so close, you can get the whole experience as you sit on the shoreline and sink your toes into the warm sand.

We especially thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Nona Lani Cottages and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to your return hopefully in the near future!

Sincerely,
Cherlyn Jean Kong, Mgr.

I love the position of the cottages, just across from the ocean. The cottage was clean and comfortable, the grounds immaculate. We had a great time for the week we stayed. Just a short drive to Kihei township for stores and dining.

Aloha jessestone,

Mahalo for your visit to Maui & the lovely review of Nona Lani Cottages. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with the world about us.

Yes, we are fortunate to be just a 15-20 minute drive from Maui's main airport. We hope that you took the 2 minute stroll on Kong's Cove Beach (like in your photo) to our favorite Sushi Bar/Korean restaurant.

The photo of you with a great smile, relaxing in one of the comfy hammocks and enjoying our beautiful grounds makes me so happy: helping to create wonderful memories for guests like you is why we choose to be in this business.... We love spreading "aloha" and having you take those good memories and smiles back to where you live. We look forward to you returning to Nona Lani Cottages in the near future.

Mahalo once again!

Our vacation was perfect here!
A good location, a beautiful garden, a cozy and pretty cottage in front the ocean, a pleasant hen that in the morning came to say hello!
I would like to come back here one day!

Aloha Valecor!

We certainly send our "Mahalo" for creating your Maui holiday memories staying with us at Nona Lani Cottages. We are glad Henny Penny (our resident hen) was a joy when she visited with you. Upon your return (hopefully soon) we will have her housed in a wonderful outdoor garden where we will be raising organic fruits & vegetables for sale.

We loved hearing that you would like to return and so do let us know if you would like to be added to our newsletter as we will feature special rates for our returning visitors!

Clean, well appointed. A small kitchen, bedroom and sitting room. Great for couples or families. Spend a week. Near a farm market and a short drive to Khei for shopping or dining. Across the road from the ocean. Walk the beach or watch the sunset.

Aloha meschub!

We are so lucky that Nona Lani Cottages was at just at the right location for a little bit of everything for you and your friends last December 2011.

But most importantly, we appreciate that you mentioned that our cottages are clean. Along with friendly service, this is priority #1 for us!

We look forward to welcoming you and your friends back here again.... Maybe this December you can see some whales while you walk the beach in the early morning? Call us for your return guest Dave and Nona's Garden Club discount.

Mahalo for your time to remember us!

Cottages at the Nona Lani are quiet, clean, comfortable and private - and surprisingly affordable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook simple meals. You can also cook outside. The ocean is right across the street - and although the street can be busy during certain times of the day - you can definitely walk to the ocean. The gardens surrounding the cottages are wonderful, and we saw a jungle moa (wild Hawiian chicken - recently reintroduced to Maui), which made our stay perfect. All of Maui is accessible from Kihei, but it's worth going to the Nona Lani just to sit in the shade and look at the palms waving in the wind. The Nona Lani is owned and managed by the family - there is nothing impersonal about this place.

Room Tip: We've stayed at two of the cottages and both were wonderful. It's a very small place and th...

Aloha 1959Rambler,

What a lovely thing to say that there is nothing impersonal about Nona Lani Cottages... we certainly try our best to make the cottages, the grounds and our service the low key and friendly place that will create happy travel memories for our guests.

Mahalo for the time you took to write about your memories of the ocean close by and the palms waving in the wind. We sensed you got a moment to breathe in and breathe out with a wonder-filled "Aaaaahhhhh...".

We would love to take all the credit, but we know the weather, the lush grounds, and yes, "Henny-Penny", our wild hawaiian hen did most of the work. Now if we could just make her give us some fresh eggs!

Sincerely,

Cherlyn Kong

We spent eight nights at Nona Lani cottages in April 2012 and really enjoyed it. We were traveling with our 4-year old son and 9-month old baby. We found it to be a very low key, family-oriented spot that made a great base to explore Maui. Everyone who works there is super accommodating and genuinely wants to make your stay perfect.

The cottages are cozy and comfortable, and our son enjoyed exploring the surrounding gardens. We enjoyed most meals on our lanai and found it to be very private. We took advantage of the coin-op laundry and then hung our laundry out to dry on the communal clothes line.

The beach is just across the road and grocery and drug stores are just a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again, it's a great alternative to the run-of-the-mill condo complexes and we felt like we experienced true Hawaiian hospitality.

Room Tip: We really liked cottage #8, tucked away in the back corner and quite private.

Aloha rachelmiura for sharing your lovely thoughts about Nona Lani Cottages. I know it has been a while since we were able to post "Mahalo's" to all who take the time to leave a message, including yours. We have been busy bees at Nona Lani Cottages making renovations to the buildings, infrastructure and grounds, and welcoming new members to our team and so we apologize for not responding in a timely fashion here at TripAdvisor's review site.

We certainly loved hearing that Nona Lani Cottages was a great base camp to see the rest of Maui from. It is definitely located just at the right spot to get to the North, South, and West quite easily from. You made everything sound so wonderful that I want to vacation at Nona Lani Cottages!

For us, the most important idea you shared with the world of travelers is that you felt we shared old fashioned hospitality with you and your family. We cannot tell you how much we appreciate you choosing Nona Lani Cottages to create your family memories of happy traveling!

We look forward to your return with your children as they grow up and call Nona Lani Cottages their "home away from home". We can't wait to introduce the new children's gardening classes in Summer of 2013!
