Ok for Maui, which we had staid on other locations, beside Kona and Honolulu. The pool dosen't seem to fit the size of the hotel? What is with that? The hotel employees are awesome, helpful, and the whole experience was good. The access to the beach is good. The outdoor restaurant Ami Ami is very good. The hotel is adequate.

We really enjoyed our stay. We have stayed here twice - the first was in two room suite with the kids, the second in a single room by ourselves. It really worked well for both occasions. It is a smaller hotel with a pool and two hot tubs, but some of the best beaches in Maui are literally across the street. We stopped at safeway on our way in to stock up the fridge, but Foodland is a only a few blocks away if you forget something. They have bikes that you can borrow as well.

Room Tip: I love the suites. It is nice having the wet bar and larger common area if you are bringing the kids with you.

The Maui Coast Hotel hotel itself is super nice (enjoyed the great workout area) but the people there made the hotel one notch higher on my list. Cannot say enought about the entire experience. Would definitely go again

Kihei is the best area on Maui to stay and this hotel is great. We only stayed one night (2/1/14). because we had to get out of our condo (one block north), but that one night in a Jr Suite was a real treat. We had been to the poolside restaurant/bar for a drink a week earlier to check out the site and were impressed. The hotel staff were all pleasant and easy to deal with. The room was large and clean. The bathroom was large and clean. The bathtub was deep and long with a nice sloping backrest.
The only complaint that I would have is that he pool area was a little small for this size of a hotel. People were hogging the reclining chaise lounge chairs for hours and hours. That night we had dinner at the poolside lounge with some friends that night and the service and food were very good. I would stay here again and will recommend this place to everyone I know. One of the best beaches on Maui, Charlie Young Beach, is right across the street and a great place to watch the sunset. The ABC Store two blocks south is a great place to find food/sundries/alcohol/souvenirs and the deli is great.

Room Tip: The hotel is set back off of the road so all rooms should be quiet.

Maui Coast Hotel is in a convenient location for walking to beaches and dining spots.
Did not try the 2 on site restaurants, but they did seem busy enough.
Very upfront about resort fee instead of just hiding it in their room rate.
Hotel is well looked after and very clean.
All the staff are friendly and helpful if you need anything at all.
Second year we have stayed there and will definitely be back.
