Maui by nature is supposed to be amazing. But when you add a great hotel in the mix it makes the experience that much more enjoyable. The Maui Coast was just that, amazing. The room was clean and well furnished. The staff was always approachable, Madeline,Manny & Edwin were great. There were more, but of course I can only remember so many names. Being a veteran of the hospitality industry I tend to be a little more critical when I travel. I notice the "little things" more than most people and this hotel met all of my expectations. My wife and I loved the pool area and happy hour. And my sons appreciated the complimentary use if the bikes. The location was perfect as well. Kam 1,2,3 beaches are within walking distance and there are some good dining options too. We are already planning our next trip. Thanks Maui Coast.

Room Tip: Try to get an upper floor, those rooms have a better view. No need to bring beach towels, they have...

On our trip to Maui my wife and I did not want to stay at a condo and this hotel seemed to have the best reviews at the best price then the other hotels. When we arrived the lobby is nice and open and looks like a great place to relax. The staff was friendly and helpful giving us a room on the second floor. The room itself was clean, comfortable and spacious, however the bathroom was very small, and the balcony has a great view of the parking lot. They charge a resort fee which covers parking (spaces are small), wifi, use of bikes, use of beach towels, etc. The hotel is located near a beach, surfboard rental shops, restaurants, and shopping, though Kihei does not exactly seem be be a hopping hotspot at night. If your able to drive Wailea has some nice shopes, and restraunts just a few miles down the road. All and all the Maui Coast Hotel is a very nice hotel which I have no major complaints, and I would definitely stay here again if I'm lucky enough to get back to Maui.

This was a very nice hotel. We had a junior suite with 2 queen size beds. The room had a microwave and a fridge. There was also a table and some chairs in the room. It was more spacious than a standard room. The beds were comfortable. My only complaint is that it could have used more light.

The beach is a very short walk from the hotel. The pool was on the small side but it was not crowded. The spots in the parking lot were a little small. My rental car was a Mercury Grand Marquis, I usually had to drive to the back of the lot to find a space. It was usually too tight of a fit to try to squeeze in a spot with a car on each side.

Overall this was a very pleasant stay. We would definitely stay here again if staying in Kihei.

Maui coast hotel has live music from 6-9 everynight. We did not stay at this hotel, however we walked to the pool side café for happy hour 3 out of the 13 nights we were in Maui. We ordered sliders which we both thought were very tasty. Another night we ordered fish and chips, I liked the hubby thought they were just ok.

We mainly went here for the live music and the friendly service...thanks John!

Just came back from a fantastic visit to Maui Coast for a week in mid-June and couldn't really ask for much more. We're a family of three including a four-year old.

All staff we ran into were universally helpful and friendly; rooms and common areas were spotless and cleaning staff we spoke with were fantastic; the outdoor pool was great; the poolside cafe was excellent (food quality, price and ambience next to pool) with musicians every night and a great happy hour too. (Technically, I think the poolside cafe might be a separate company contracted out to the hotel - not sure - but if so the relationship runs seamlessly.). Internet was reasonably quick and the beach was a 4 minute walk away across the street. Hotel towels for the beach or pool were included and plentiful. Two queen bed room was exactly as advertised including a small balcony. Local shuttle service was free, friendly and fast - of course, we did tip.

Too busy having fun to check out the tennis courts or the fitness centre, so can't comment on those.

We booked through Westjet vacations, so the daily resort fee was taken care of as part of the package. I suppose some people might have a small complaint if they had to pay this fee and didn't know about it, but really t's pretty standard practice through Hawaii and from what I can tell, the fee certainly isn't hidden.

For us, the location in Kihei was perfect striking a good balance between being relatively quiet but with great access to lots of nearby restaurants, markets and a decent playground. You must rent a car in Maui, so most things were within a 5 minute drive with the beach being less than a five minute walk. A broader range of outdoor activities can be found in Lahaina which is maybe a 30 to 45 minute drive which is reasonable for a short day trip and there are numerous other beaches throughout the island that we checked out. But for us, between the nearly beach, pool, poolside cafe, nearby restaurants, markets and playground, we barely needed to leave Kihei.

Down the thread somewhere, somebody complained about the limited toilet paper available which is true and is one small complaint. Not sure why they only give you one roll with no backup, but they should change that. Had to call flag down the cleaning staff once or twice to get another roll, so they should change that.

Other than that, I'm really struggling to find much in the way of constructive criticism. Great hotel!

Room Tip: Stayed on fifth floor in double queen room.

Going to Maui and don't want the hectic, crowded pace of Lahaina? The place to come for a more relaxed vacation with all of the amenities without the crowds is Kihei and the place to stay is the Maui Coast Hotel. The rooms are spacious with modern conveniences and incredibly comfortable beds. Located across the street fro the beach, you don't need a car to travel to get your sun worshipping in. The hotel offers a beautiful swimming pool and spa with a co-located café and bar to order those fancy umbrella drinks without needing to leave your lounge chair. The hotel staff is second to none and go the extra mile to ensure guests are happy. During our stay, our bedroom air conditioner stopped working. A call to the front desk had a service man in our room with a new A/C installed in less than twenty minutes. I could not find a single thing wrong with this hotel in any category. Stay here, you won't be sorry.

Room Tip: Book a junior or one-room suite.

We arrived late and the check in staff was friendly and very helpful. Other staff were great, room was clean. Locked interior doors to the hotel made me feel safe. Although this hotel is not ocean front the beach was right across the street and was lovely. Many good restaurants close by. Many activities we did were in Lahaina so the 45 minute drive was sometimes a nuisance. We would stay here again and recommend it to anyone we know traveling to Maui.
