“Good food , good prices...”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

Had heard good things about this restaurant over the years ( several trips to Maui ) and finally decided to give it a try.

We had the blackened mahi mahi with mango salsa (excellent), the grilled ono (very good) and the ahi sandwich (good). Side Ceasar salads were perfectly dressed. Service was fine but nothing special.

Nothing spectacular but we would definitely return. It's no-frills good food at non-Wailea prices.

“A consistent winner....”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

My son and I stopped for lunch here recently. It had been several years since my last visit to Maui and Cafe Olei. I was very pleased to find the same friendly staff excellent food. Cafe Olei is located on a second floor along the main drag in Kihei, Maui. In years past we have had many a wonderful meal there but after three years I was expecting that things might have deteriorated some. Not so!
They had two lunch specials that day and I opted for the Sesame Crusted Ono and my son the house special chicken dish. Both were excellent and we sent the plates back barely needing washing. We sat at the bar and received first class service from our bartender/waiter. The patrons at Cafe Olei are an eclectic mix of locals and tourists. They have a wonderful round bar with seating at the bar for meals if you are alone or in a hurry. This is a place I would never hesitate to recommend.

“Great breakfasts, very casual”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

Great coffee, bagels, smoothies and fruit bowls. Very casual - it is a stand on the corner and you eat outside

“Great food and value”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

Our surf instructor suggested Cafe O'Lei. The outside is very unassuming -- we probably would not have walked in without the recommendation. So glad we did! The food was excellent and very affordable -- most menu items around $10. Fresh fish, fresh and local beef. Casual but nice at the same time. We almost drove back to it a second time we loved it so much!

“Great food!”

This was our favorite food in Maui. We had to go twice. The service was friendly and efficient. If you go have the crab cakes-best I have ever eaten.
