“Family meal before movie...w/veg head bro and G F sister...”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

went here for dinner before the movie (The Butler)...I've eaten here many times before, though for Thai, it's not normally my first choice...but it's in the same mall as the theater complex so it won out...

ordered up some beers to chill us down abit...nice selection of bottled imports and domestics...all bottles, no draught...all imports abt 6usd and sis got Thai Iced Tea...

started with the summer rolls, and have to say they were pretty much the best I've had in some time...good size order...4 whole ones, cut in half, with the usual sweet/spicy red dipping sauce and the peanut one too...got them w/shrimp....10usd...I'd rather pay the 2 bucks more and get double the amount that you get in other places that serve the summer rolls (read fresh, not deep fried like spring rolls)...

for entrees we went for my comparison standard of Pad Thai w/chicken...usual preparation/presentation....ordered it medium, sis thought that was pretty hot! Whoa I was putting the garlic chili sauce on mine...

brother/wife shared a Penang Shrimp Curry, again fairly typical preparation/presentation...

both entrees were at 13.95usd and the brown rice was ordered at 2usd for the small one...

so all in all was pleasant meal...as I stated at the beginning, not my first choice for Thai, but then again...not a bad choice either...I find the staff here quite pleasant, service friendly, kitchen fast...sometimes too fast as others have mentioned...they have plenty of G F available, so for the other reviewer that was whining about the server not knowing...well you s/be knowledgeable of the basics of Thai food to know what is G F and what is no no...but at any rate the server there tonight fully knew what G F was...

total was just under 60usd for the 3 beers, one Thai ice tea, the summer rolls, 2 entree plates, and the side of rice...

aloha from Maui....

“The Green Curry! Order the Green Curry!”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

You already know what we ordered with our jasmine rice; the green curry. Medium-hot is plenty on the heat scale. But if you like HOT then go HOT! WE had perfect mahi-mahi cooked to a firm white, not that translucent see-through you always get when chefs don't care and over -cook everything. This fish was perfect in a black-bean sauce! Whatever vegetables arrived were nicely done, and thier flavors nicely added to the dish without being obliterated by whatever meat was ordered. And yes, the tofu dishes are great alternatives to meat. Lotsa cold Thai and Chinese beers finished this dinner perfectly.

“Rude Staff Took Away Our Appetites”
Reviewed July 2, 2013 via mobile

We were browsing the mall for food and came upon this restaurant, not far from the movie theater. Before sitting we asked to see the menu, still deciding on food since I'm a non-meat eater who didn't want salad. We said hello but received no response from the greeter. No worries, it happens. We looked over the menu as we discussed options and interests to ourselves. The person who gave us the menu walked away once we told her that we were still deciding, which was fine because she was obviously busy with something in the back. it took a few minutes for her to come out initially.

The greeter did not smile or greet us directly. She did not hand us our menus but rather placed them on the table and walked away. Hubby and I looked at each other with questioning looks about the tension from the greeter. We began to discuss whether or not to stay and order. As we flipped the menu and debated, the greeter returned and interrupted without pardon, "Are you ready to order because the kitchen is closing soon?" Hubby and I looked at each other with that Scooby-doo questioning look. There was plenty of time before the posted closing time, about an hour or so. I was confused why the rush and what was going on. The greeter stood with impatience and repeated the question, adding, "I need to know what you are ordering because the kitchen is closing soon". I was done, we left. The greeter then returned to the back area as we walked out. No exit comments of any kind. She was rude, impatient and showed no proper hostess etiquette. We felt unwanted and gladly took our business elsewhere.

“Affordable and tasty - convenient location”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

I have eastern in many Thai restaurants and this is one of the better meals.
Especially away from home after a tired day it tasted so good.
We only took a takeout on our way back to hotel from Haleakala.
The food was tasty - not gourmet style but is well cooked clean and most importantly has Thai flavor.
We ate in 3 restaurants on the island and this was the best of the 3.
The location is central - you can stop her eon your way to Hana, Haleakala or to the airport.
I would definitely go here again.

“Decent Thai meal in Kahului”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

Tonight was date-night in Maui for us and based on a recommendation from a friend, we decided to have dinner at this Thai restaurant.

Overall, the meal was decent. We split an order of veggie spring rolls to start. My wife chose the Pad Thai with tofu for her main course and I ordered the Rad Nar with chicken for mine. The spring rolls came almost immediately and before we finished them, our main course meals were on the table. It was a bit too fast for us.

The spring rolls were fantastic, including the sweet dipping sauce served with them. However, the main course dishes, although they looked great in appearance, were somewhat average in flavour. We find the two Thai restaurants we frequent at home to be significantly superior in flavour and overall food quality.

And when we finished our meal, we waited and waited and waited for our check and left-over containers to arrive. They were busy so the wait was understandable.

We would eat here again, but with lower expectations.
