“Hard To Find Location Because They're Behind Hawaiian National Bank Building”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

Great and very friendly place to eat at with live Hawaiian music plus ocean view. The only Buffet on this island. Buffet will cost you more because their foods is the far better quality than both Hometown & Golden Corral Buffets in main states. The Sunday Brunch open every Sunday from 9:00 AM. Try out Eddie's Famous Greaseless moist homemade Portuguese sausages. When the owner, Eddie cook up hot and fresh eggs omelet. It's so good plus the best breakfast buffet value Eddie also doing Buffets during evenings. You still can order out from menu from stakes and fresh seafood + the Fish n' Chips. You will get better seafoods than Mama's Fish House for much less price to you. You will get more food on your plate. My dad first time here, he was very impressed.

“Good deal in Maui”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Stopped here for a late lunch and were almost the only people in the place. Had the small lunch plate of sauteed ono, rice and cole slaw and it was great! We'd been served over-cooked fish at several places and it was nice to have it cooked so well. I'm not big on coleslaw but this one was better than most. Very friendly service and lots of local info from one of the owners (Cary?). We will probably go back, maybe for the brunch they advertised for $13 on Sundays. Fun old place that reminded us of supper clubs back in Wisconsin years ago.

“Lovely view, if only the food compared.”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

This is more of a family buffet than a nice restaurant. For entree's, there were local favorites and typical buffet fare...ribs (very tender, not much flavor), fried fish, Chicken Adobo (good flavor, but very mild), and other things that weren't memorable enough to mention. There was salad bar of about 12 items, bread and soup. The soup was the tastiest thing on the board to me, a nice chowder. We were treated, so don't know the cost, but I think I'd find a different place for special occasions. Large gatherings with hungry people, this works fine.

$19.99 was the price your host paid for your buffet. You mentioned our BBQ Ribs (I've won every BBQ award possible), The fried ONO (Fish) the salad island, the soup...you forgot to mention all the other items. The Poultry special, the Corn on the Cobb, Vegetarian freshly made baked beans and bread, bean-less chili. You also forgot to mention the complimentary beverages that come with our buffet. All this for $19.99...ON Maui no less. You should have order off the menu that features Prime Rib, or a freshly cut New York Steak. Items that can be flavored to your liking. The shrimp is prepared to order, which means NOTHING IS BOUGHT PRE-MADE. We make everything as it is ordered, and flavored more intensely upon request. Maybe the Alaskan King Crab would have been a good choice for you. Oh forgot, you were not paying. Sorry.
For restaurants to improve their product, these issues need to be addressed on the spot. Allow businesses the information needed to improve. This is not right.

“WARM & FAMILIAR ATMOSPHERE...”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

During our first visit in Maui, everyone were giving us a warning about how expensive is the price of food is...This place besides the cozy and friendly atmosphere defies all those odds...The lunch buffet food selection is just right for the price and the staffs service reminds us of how we treated warmly back home...A live smooth music is also available in the background while sharing the food together and with the beautiful view of the Kahului downtown marina...We will definitely come back in this place if we will ever pass this way again...

“Great Food”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

On the flight over to Maui, someone mentioned that The Hideaway had good food. Since The Hideaway was a couple of blocks down from the Maui Seaside we went to eat dinner there. The Hideaway has a buffet dinner and a outstanding menu. My girlfriend had a chicken dish and I had the baby back ribs-full rack. It was awesome and I managed to finish the whole rack of ribs.
The prices were quite reasonable and the food is great, so I recommend you giving The Hideaway a try and see for yourself.
The staff was friendly and gave good service. The Hideaway had live music on this night and so relaxing.
