On our last night in Maui (we had a "red eye" flight back to Oregon), we ate at Pizza in Paradise in Kahalui (about 5 minutes from the airport). I had been looking for some really good pizza during the trip, and Pizza in Paradise was recommended by the book, "Maui Revealed". It turned out to be an excellent choice.

While the restaurant is a bit "off the beaten path", it's definitely worth going. The pizza was excellent, the best I've had on the island!!!!! My wife and I ordered a large pizza, and sent back a completely empty pizza tray - it was that good. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the surfing ambiance inside was pretty neat. Bottom line, if you're looking for fancy ambiance, go somewhere else. If you're looking for REALLY good pizza, this is the place. We'll definitely go back on our next trip to Maui.

We stopped by here on our way to the airport as we departed Maui. I was a little taken aback when we stumbled upon it because it is in a warehouse. I'm glad we stopped by here as it made for a filling lunch. We at the Paniolo meat lover pizza which is ham, pepperoni, ground beef, Portuguese sausage and Kalua Pork. The Kalua Pork is pretty outstanding addition. It really adds to flavor without being overwhelming.

You kinda have to look for the place, but the pizzas are remarkable in this surf shop asmosphere warehouse cafe.

This is a great spot to eat on the way back from Haleakala or Hana. The pizza was great and very reasonably priced. We had a large with tons of toppings for $16 which on Maui is really good. The place looks like a crappy place but you arent going to eat pizza after a day of sightseeing and looking for great ambiance.

We really liked this place and would recommend.

Recommended by the Maui Revealed book, but I was mixed. We arrived starving after our flight from the mainland and we were underwhelmed by the fairly grungy and haphazard “décor”. The place was completely empty at lunchtime, not a hopeful sign. We ordered our somewhat pricey sandwiches at the counter and sat down and waited and waited and waited. Seriously, we’re the only ones in the place, what is taking so long?? Sandwiches finally arrived and they were fantastic - crunchy chewy French bread, good filling, big enough. After we left, my husband told me about what happened when he paid. The owner gave him the credit card receipt, told him to “check the receipt carefully” and then stood there expectantly. Hubby realized that the guy was totally fishing for a tip – for ordering at the counter and bringing the sandwiches 20 feet to us. Just raise your prices, don’t make customers feel obligated to tip!
