We heard it was good German cuisine but also good seafood/fish. Our first visit was disappointing. Although it was not overly busy at lunchtime, it took us 25-30 minutes to receive our "Express Special" green salads topped with fresh fish. The fish was over cooked and dry and lacked seasoning. The atmosphere was like a small beer garden in an industrial park, not particularly appealing but we won't fault them for that. Prices were high even by Maui standards ($17 per person excluding beverages, tax, tip, for salads with some fish on one of the salads). Not an economical or even moderately priced lunch at all. Not good value for what was received.

This is definitely a locals place. It is in the middle of an industrial park where you would never just stumble upon it. The food is good, especially the salads. The menus is limited but we were able to find something for everyone in our group.

Not many options for a good lunch in downtown Kahului. Brigit & Bernard is my number 1 choice. Tucked away in the industrial area, it offers good fare, nice portion and a oasis of old world sorrounded by an ocean of fast food.
