“Good food, great service and huge portions”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

We ate at Da Kitchen twice in our week on Maui. First try was the Fish Basket which was too much food for even the two of us as portions are huge. Next visit I had the Maui Fried Noodles and wife had the Loco Moco; both were quite good. What is really impressive at this restaurant is the way they keep the flow of customers moving. You don't feel rushed but they turnover tables very quick.

“Great Local Place, Good Food, Big Portions, Worth It To Wait In Line”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

Locals like this place. When visiting my family, It is kind of a must :)
Even we always wait outside an average of 15-20min to be seated, the meal is always worth It. The staff is kind and friendly, is not an expensive restaurant, the food is good and the portions are big (too big for me).

“Fantastic Food. AWESOME Spam Musubi”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Came here right after our flight from NY and had an awesome dinner. The deep fried spam musubi will keep me coming back to Maui for years to come. Highly recommend it.

Ended up having the chicken teriyaki plate and not only was it delicious but it was enough for two meals.

Service was great, ambience is cute, we had a 10 minute wait and it was well worth it. Will definitely be coming back.

“Delicious, quirky, ample portions”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

Ate here twice during our stay in Maui. The first time, we were tempted to look elsewhere because there was a wait for lunch, but one of the other patrons waiting said it was worth it. He was right. The food was great, and we had enough leftover for a large snack later. The decor is interesting. I is unusual not to have a specific server, all waitstaff attend all tables, and for the most part, it works. Had an Asian salad the first time and Kalua pork the second. Both were excellent. Also tried the crab cakes for an appetizer. Yum! And the prices are very reasonable.

“Wow! A hole in the wall that is excellent!!!”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

We found this restaurant online while looking for something close to the Grand Wailea. When we got our car from the valet, he asked where we were going. When my husband said a plate lunch place a couple of miles away, he said Da Kitchen? We all love it there. He then gave us easy directions and off we went.

It was soooo good! Much better than Aloha Mixed Plate, which had been a favorite on a previous trip. The Kahlua Pork was excellent! The Teryiaki steak was great! The teryiaki chicken was out of this world! The chicken katsu was excellent- crispy but not oily. Perfect! Their macaroni salad was great! Steamed rice, perfect! The girls who were working the counter were very helpful with my daughter who didn't initially want to eat there. It just didn't look like somewhere she wanted to spend her dinner. Well, she ate more than the rest of us and wanted to order more! She kept asking to go back! We would have except that it was almost an hour's drive from our condo. She even asked to go there at 7 am while we were driving to the airport. It really was that good.

We live in California and have L & L and Ono Hawaiian BBQ. This is sooo much better than either of those places. My daughter just said that she wishes that Da Kitchen was here. It was delicious!

I think that we will need to stop by Da Kitchen on our next Maui trip right after we leave the airport. It is that good!
