“Fun and filling”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

Arrived in Maui and headed to Da Kitchen. Just what was needed!! Had to wait outside maybe 10 minutes but worth it. The place was packed with a great crowd, locals and tourists. The service was great, efficient and full of life. Food was wonderful. Huge portions. We had four different meals and each of us had a lot of each one!! Noodles outstanding, the Bento boxes were delicious. Great value. We enjoyed it so much we went back three days later for lunch again after the swap meet.

“Loved the Wontons would come back”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

The wonton appetiser with shrimp and pork - very delicous. My daughter had a burger that was "just okay". The fish plate is HUGE - plenty for 2-3 people to share with shrimp, tempura mahi mahi, etc. I have never met an onion ring I didn't like - but did not like these...some type of batter that just didn't taste right.
We saw several tables around us order dinners like their teriyaki beef and rice and many pork and rice dishes that looked delicious. I would come back and try one of their rice dishes.

“Great local foods pre/ post Kahului flight”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

Looking for quick but good food just before or after a flight in Kahului, Maui? Tired of fast food and yet no time for restaurant service? search no further - Da Kitchen is our answer. We checked in our bags and hung onto our rental car and headed straight to the junction between Hana and Koloa street in a plaza just opposite the Big K mart sign. We were seated after 3 min wait even though the place is full. People came ate fast and went. You could take out too. Food came quickly even though the waitresses seemed like college girls on Spring Break- cutlery and water glasses were incomplete and needed reminding. Still, you don't come for white table cloth service. Fired Spam Masubi was tasty and satisfying (A-). They have a wonderful Hawaiian Plate (A+). Don't let the name fool you- it has Kalua Pork, Chicken Lau Lau ( wrapped in Taro Leave) and the wonderful Chicken Long Rice ( essentially small chunks of chicken in rice noodles that were saturated with comforting chicken stock)(A+). Loco Moco they have a whole section to satisfy your fancy. The regular Loco Moco we ordered were only average(B). Maybe it is tough to distinguish such a common entree. It was hearty and enjoyable all the same. All in, we paid around $17 per person. What a deal! This shall be our pop in and out place whenever we fly in and out of Kahului.

“Best burger”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

I've never tasted a burger that good. If this restaurant was close to our hotel we would eat there every day!
