I booked this hotel with a little hesitation since it was not a "major resort", and not located on the beach. I checked out of the hotel as happy as could be that I stayed here.

The hotel is located at the airport (a two minute drive to terminal and rental car return) and is within five minutes to many restaurants, groceries, and the mall. It is just a few minutes drive to the closest beach (Baldwin Beach Park is the one I visited often). The hotel is also centrally located for trips to Hana, Wailea, Lahaina, and Kapalua and made a great home base for our daily trips without the crowds of the resort areas.

The Courtyard was the typical set up you would expect from their brand (which is good). The rooms were good sized, the property exceedingly clean and well taken care of. The staff was as gracious and as nice as any hotel that I have stayed. The pool and hot tub area was clean and unlike the other resorts on the island, not crowded. The bistro serves the usual Courtyard menu, and the food was prepared fresh and hot. The hotel even hosted a Hawaiian dance company during our stay who performed an hour of local music and dance which was very well done.

The Costco is right across the street which was a plus with our Costco membership, and there is a Krispy Kreme within a less than five minute walk. All of the comforts of home while being in Maui.

I'm not sure I would ever stay anywhere else when on Maui!

Room Tip: The rooms on the rear of the hotel (over looking the pool and Haleakala) are world class!

I stayed at the Courtyard, near the airport, after arriving on a night flight. It was our first visit to Maui and we did not know our way around. Other guests were using it as a base and making day trips all over the island. Just an overnight stay, with no problems at all. (The Maui Costco is just across the street.)

We stayed overnight after a late evening flight from Oahu to Maui. The property is well cared for and much more affordable than heading to our main hotel for our Maui stay in Wailea. The room was well appointed and clean. The bed was quite comfortable. The location was nearby many inexpensive eating (Denny's, McDonalds, Krispy Creme) and shopping choices (Kmart) for last minute or other needs. The only drawback was the $10 charge for parking our car overnight. This location is more of an overnight convenience rather than a vacation destination and the charge for parking should be included in the price of the stay. The hotel guests should be given a parking permit for free and others who leave there car in the lot without staying at the hotel should be towed.

We stayed overnight after arriving at the airport. This a GREAT small hotel in a perfect location to explore the Hana Hwy and Haleakala before heading down to the big resorts in Wailea and Kaanapali.. Very clean, warm and welcoming The little Bistro is great for a quick bite.

We stayed at the Courtyard as the last night of our Maui trip and before an early flight. The stay was excellent, staff was very helpful, the new Courtyard design is nice. The room was just what we needed. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Great location.

We stayed here using Marriott Rewards points and chose this property because it was new and near the airport. We arrived in the early evening after a long day of travel and wanted an affordable option for the first night of our vacation, as well as a clean room with a comfortable bed. The Courtyard by Marriott Maui Kahului met our expectations. The room was the standard Courtyard configuration, but everything was fresh and new, and even given the close proximity to the airport, it was quiet. We slept very well that night, and anybody who has traveled nearly all day to get to Hawaii will tell you getting a good night's rest on the first night of your vacation is very important! Staff were welcoming and helpful, and the lobby was large and roomy -- a very pleasant place to sit and enjoy coffee and a paper in the morning. The only negative: the parking fee. I would have given the property 5 stars but agree with other reviewers who commented that paying $10 for parking was annoying. Parking was abundant but unsecured and what you would expect for similar styled properties (i.e. competing brands that don't charge for parking spaces that typically ring the building), and the fee seemed like a money grab -- as in, we can charge the fee so we do. That said, we were happy with our decision to stay here and would consider staying again on a future trip.

1st visit to Maui a success! They checked me in a little early with no hassle and check out isn't until noon (you can request later and they will do their best to accommodate).

This hotel is great if you're looking for a central location on the island, ie. you plan on really getting out and seeing all parts of the island. I had a rental car and went everywhere and because of the hotels location I never felt like I had an incredibly long drive back at the end of every day then when it was time to leave I was 5 minutes from the airport so didn't need to worry about travel time getting there. I love that it's in a location that has small shopping centers for any of your needs and various local food establishments. The area is not too "touristy" which I appreciated.

The hotel itself is really clean and welcoming. The pool area is fantastic. Because most people spend their day out sightseeing or at the beach the pool was never crowded when I went. The first thing I did after checking in was hit the pool for a swim and the last thing I did before leaving was hit the pool for some last minute sun... both times relaxing. I only had breakfast at the hotel and both times it was good and not too pricey, bonus that they serve Starbucks coffee. The staff was so friendly, Macy at the the front desk was always ready to assist with a big, pretty smile welcoming you. Thanks Macy!

Other bonuses: Free wifi - although it was a little slow, can't complain much when it's free. Free shuttle to/from airport and to any place within 3 miles of the hotel including the beach. So if you don't plan on seeing much of the island or maybe don't want to rent a car the entire time you still aren't "stuck" at the hotel. Shuttle drivers were also very friendly and helpful with tips about the local area (food, etc).
