We arrived in Maui late so decided on the Maui Seaside for 1 night as it is near the airport and a reasonable cost. It was a good choice for this but not as a longer holiday stay.
The taxi from airport was only about $10 and close, maybe 2 miles.
It is a kind of rambling property, low rise, with a pool but no real beach, set on a main drag with shopping centres closeby. Our room was a 1 bedroom with kitchen and AC, a small balcony, the bed was OK but not great and the decor a bit dated but OK.
The reception staff were great. Breakfast was included in their resto and it was a big Hawaiian style, good with very friendly service.

I would return to this hotel again in similar circumstances.

We stayed here the first night of our arrival on Maui and had a room close to the pool which was small and just a bit tired looking but clean, and then had to pay for parking on hotel grounds.. We then decided to come back a week later for 2 nights and ended up staying on the 3rd floor of the newer part of the hotel where the room was quiet an improvement on our first nights stay. Really enjoyed having a wholefoods shop so handy.

As most of the reviews state; this is not a fancy spa resort but, it also doesn't have the fancy spa resort price tag, what it is is a reasonably priced, centrally located, friendly, clean hotel, trust me the South & west side of the island has those fancy resorts but it is also a lot hotter due to lack of the trade winds you get on the North Shore, we did the daily breakfast included and never left the on site restaurant Tante's hungry. All & all. we would definitely stay here again and refer any one who asked. We just returned this evening,

Room Tip: Large rooms, friendly courteous staff, they all have in room refrigerators and offer free safes downstairs at the front desk, We had a garden view with amazing views of the water and the eastern volcano, what a beautiful thing to wake up and see every morning and the beds are very comfortable, more so than some of the very pricey resorts, also Casanova Bistro across the street is truly out of this world, talk about excellence in dining.

Great Hotel only two floors the decor is older but very clean Staff pleasant and very helpful you can either use their pool or step on the beach and swim in the ocean This Hotel is within walking distance to Sears in a Mall has easy excess to the bus or being picked up by the Tour bus Just 10 minutes you can be to the Kahului Airport
I would recommend this Hotel to family or. friends
Thank you to the ladies at the Desk for adding to my marvellous trip to Maui

This was our first trip to Maui and we are very happy to have chosen this hotel. For a family of five, 2 teenagers and a toddler included, on a budget, this was the right choice. We liked how close it was to EVERYTHING. Several shopping centers, restaurants, and of course, the airport. We were given vouchers for free breakfast for the adults, so that meant we only had to pay for the kids. The breakfast was right next door at Tantes Restaurant. The voucher has 3 choices, during our week long stay, we tried all three, and we were never dissappointed. Hotel staff was very accomodating at check-in, after our 19 hour trip from NY. They even gave us a larger room (room 228) with an extra twin size bed, a kitchenette with microwave and a fridge, perfect, since there were 5 of us, and there was no need to rent a crib ( $10 per night). Parking is $5 a day-- this is the only complaint we have about our stay. We feel parking should be included with hotel stay. Also, about the parking, it was often hard to find a good spot, several times we had to park on the rear of the hotel, which was not visible from our room. They have a parking attendant there daily and you have to display a pass on your windshield before they allow you in the parking lot, this made us feel safe. The pool was just the right size. There is a secluded beach on hotel property, and every day we visited, we were the only ones there. A nice view of the mountains can be seen from the beach as well. We used the laundry mat during our stay, that was very convenient. We also noticed the staff daily taking care of the landscaping and gardens, very hard workers. Again, we will commend the ladies in reception for their hospitality, for providing us with extra towels when needed and even mailing out postcards for us. When we return to Maui, we would be returning to Seaside Hotel!!
