Great opportunity to see and buy local. Lots of artists and crafts people with interesting wares. Some junk but hey, it's a swap meet. Great food selections. Do your souvineer shopping.

We always take the time to visit the Maui Swap Meet when we visit Maui. I would not really call it a swap meet but more like a street fair. Good produce and local one of a kind hand made items.
There is a 50 cent entry fee and it gets hot because there is not a lot of shade. A good way to start a Saturday in central Maui.

When in Maui THIS is the place to buy veggies and baked goods at a reasonable price. $1 lettuce, .50 bells, bags of tomatoes, onions, mushrooms are $2. Cant beat that even at Costco. Only open on Saturdays so bring your bags and load up. Also, yummy fresh baked breads, cupcakes and more. Reasonable prices on Hawaiian clothes, hats, and jewelry too.

We go to Maui every summer and we NEVER skip this weekly event. It's an amazing place. Don't be fooled--like I was originally--by the name "swap meet." Because of the name swap meet I expected a lot of junk--discards from peoples' garages and basically trash. Therefore I avoided going to it for years. How I regret those missed hours of shopping bliss! It is actually an incredibly large collection of local artists who display and sell their mostly hand-made goods. There's hand-dyed, beautiful tee-shirts, tons of jewelry (souvenir type), and just about anything you could think of. Sure, there's stuff straight from China & the Phillipines, but the hand-made goods make up for that. There's also a very large farmer's market with incredibly delicious and fresh produce and flowers. The prices are insanely reasonable! Go--you'll love it!

We just got back from the Maui Swap Meet and let me tell you, we were very impressed withe prices of fruits and vegatables. The people are friendly and the atmosphere there was lively and energetic. We plan on going every Saturday while we are here, you have to try the guava and macadamia nut breads plus the macadamia nut toffee, just amazing. Also the cupcakes at Amy's Cupcakes were delicious and free of all harmful chemicals and GMO's. if you are in Maui you have to stop in on Saturday mornings and try it out.
