Whether you are looking for gifts for those at home or fresh produce, this is the place to go. Open only on Saturdays, it is one of the places to go. Free parking, 50 cent admission, you can easily spend two hours here to peruse a great variety of items. From t-shirts, jewelry, crafts, flowers to baked goods, jams and jellies, and ready to eat goodies, you will find it here. The produce is fresh and better prices than the grocery stores. Be sure to go early for a better selection and to avoid the heat. I only wish I had known about it the first few times I came to Maui. Now, it is on my calendar every year.

I last reviewed the Swap Meet location shortly after they moved to their new, bigger location across from the Maui Arts and Cultural Center on the grounds of the (now) U H Maui College...

at first the new location, other than being new, was just slightly larger vendor wise...with rather pitiful food vendor choices...

fast forward 2+ years...

the avg number of vendors on any given Sat (the only day it's open) had doubled to approx 250...of all shapes...sizes...offerings...

the number of food vendors has also increased exponentially to at least 20+...not to mention numerous shave ice places etc (hint: if they offer shaved ice...don't bother going there...it's always and only called shave ice by the locals/kama'aina)...look for the 3 that have lines of people waiting their turn...that's your big clue...

there are choke fresh produce vendors, esp on the back row...however, most of them are NOT growing what they are selling...if you want we grew it, we picked it, we're selling it....seek out Jamie, Pam and Tutu (g'ma) in the middle 'alley' to the right, half way down on the left (killer radishes)...just past Uncle Alfred the well known/beloved incense seller...

and just at the end of that 'alley' is one of the most busy, popular and longest at the Swap Meet booths...Jeffs Jam and Jellies...but Jeff, who makes, and bottles every single jar by hand, has FAR more than just jams and jellies...do check out his fruit butters, seasoning salts and 'spicy kine' jams...Yummmm...

admission is still only .50...enter to the booth on the right and be personally greeted by Auntie Alice who has a smile of aloha for each and every person...

hours are 7>1, but seriously folks if you can't make it there by noon, don't bother as most vendors are packing up already...

NO ATM onsite...few vendors take CC's so bring CASH...

This is a great swap meet to go for farmer's market and souveniers. A lot of the same items you will see in stores or at other craft fairs will be here. In addition, there are several local carvers where you can buy wood or bone carvings that will be more unique to the area. My wife found a carved bone whale tail necklace that was perfect and unique. Many items will be found here at a lower price. There is plenty of small trinkets at small prices for the kids. And there are plenty of massage places charing around a $1 per minute. The 808 T-shirt store was here with clearance specials of 3 for $20. At their store it is clearance is usually $8.08 each item. It can take a couple of hours to thoroughly go thru all the vendors and there is food for those who get hungry from all the walking. Fair warning, the swap meet begins at 7 AM every Saturday and parking get tights after 9 AM. So unless you like to walk a lot, be there early for the best parking and best selection. The admission is only 50 cents per person.

Make sure you come early because the swap meet gets very busy and walking around can get extremely hot with the sun shining overhead. Lots of great souvenirs to pick up at reasonable prices and the flowers, fruits and vegetable stands are a must. Great selection and great prices!

We go here every Saturday to buy most of the vegetables we eat through the week. Look around first the prices change every week. The same place isn't always the cheapest every week. They have great amd fresh local veggies.
