We loved the views of the lush valleys and waterfalls. The pilot took us into a valley he said is normally dark and rainy so that was spectacular. We flew over several mountains and around Haleakela volcano. That was amazing. Make sure you go early in the day for the best viewing. We also paid extra to have first class seating and it was worth every cent.

“Totally amazing!”
Reviewed February 14, 2013 via mobile

I went on Feb 9th- booked this through the American Express office at the Westin (at a cheaper rate than the website offers). I drove myself there and everything was just easy- check in, briefing, etc. I paid the extra $$$ for the WhisperStar 60 minute flight to Molokai. And a first class seat, to boot. I know the money seems outrageous, but it was once in a lifetime and totally amazing. Saw the waterfalls in Molokai. Sure it rained some and was windy, but our pilot was very careful and talked to us the whole time. Crossing over to and from Molokai we saw a LOT of aerial whale antics. This aircraft was mostly window and had great views. It also appeared much better maintained than some of the neighboring companies. There was actually one tiny little orange helicopter next door that there is no way I would have stepped foot in. Highly recommend Sunshine!

Booked this as an extra when we arrived on the island through our hotel. Great service, picked up at hotel and driven to helicopter by interesting and informed staff member. Really organized, seemed really on the ball. Flight was amazing. Flew over Kilauea crater and rift zone and saw entry of lava into sea. Along windward coast too, up close and personal with beautiful valleys and waterfalls. Pilot very interesting and knowledgable. Expensive but soooo worth it. One of the highlights of our trip.

“What really is Sunshine Helicopters”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Talk about a Shady company, we flew over the holidays and these guys and gals running this place could barley run a two car parade. Luckily the pilot was the only normal thing around there. We were stuck with the Crater/Beach ride as i'm sure you will read other reviews that they come up with excuses not to fly to Hana ! which in the end did not matter as it was the oldest smallest window'd helicopter i have been on in a long time. All in all not a professionally run company. Maui is known for drugs and i think if you needed some you could find them at Sunshine, Rain or shine ;)
