“Expensive, but worth it!”
Reviewed July 7, 2012

We decided to splurge and take a helicopter ride over Maui and Molokai, and I have to say that it was really worth it. We had an excellent pilot (really nice to everyone and did a great job explaining the areas we were in). We paid extra to sit in the front with the pilot, and I think it was worth it since we aren't likely to do something like this again. Mke sure that you wear dark clothing like they suggest so that you won't get a reflection if you take photos. They offer a DVD at the end of the flight. Could be a nice souvenir but it was also expensive, so I'll just take my memories (and our photos). I highly recommend this company.

When booking a helicopter tour, safety is the most important issue you're dealing with. Take a look at the safety record of the company and make sure that you have detailed and documented informations about your pilot. Remember, the pilot is the most important part of your tour. Here are things that you want to know:
age of your pilot (older pilots are nor necessarily more experienced and may have slower reaction time)
flying record (how many flying hours? ever had an accident?)
and the most important: how many hours has your pilot flown in the last 3-4 years? Keep in mind that the most important issue for a pilot is to stay current and updated.
Have a safe flight!!!

“The best way to see the entire island of Maui!!!”
Reviewed June 30, 2012

We were told we could drive to the crater but that it would take 2 hours to get there and another 2 to come back. I was not in the mood to haul the entire family so they would spend all day in a car... so I decided to inquire about the helicopter ride.... yes it is expensive but we were the only ones in it (low season?) and got to see not only the crater but the absolutely incredible views of so many waterfalls, a 360 rainbow, and lush forests. The whole experience came with a dvd of our actual flight that took 45-50 min. I am sure the car ride has its benefits (especially the cost) but the views and the experience were truly priceless!

“Excellent experience!”
Reviewed June 29, 2012 via mobile

Great time for my wife and I. Were on the flight with another couple who were newly engaged. The male passenger got sick twice on the flight and stunk up the helicopter...also the suggestion to wear dark clothing is very important for pictures!
The same male passenger that stunk up the helicopter with his vomit, wore a white t-shirt and my wife was not able to take pictures out of her window due to his shirt. Other than dealing with the smell and his ignorance to reflections on plexiglas windows, the tour was great!

Thanks Keith!

“This Was Most Enjoyable”
Reviewed June 1, 2012

After three attempts from the cruise ship to get in a "Hawaii Helicopter Ride" we finally were able to get one in with Sunshine along with Steve as our pilot for the Molokai deluxe tour. It was a last minute booking and we were delightfully surprised. Sunshine's facility is great and, it seemed to us, that everyone working there loved what they do. You really felt like your business is appreciated. Our pilot Steve was superb, entertaining, knowledgeable and never did we feel rushed. At one point Steve exclaimed "boy gotta just love this job" and he's done this how many times? Great to hear. Got the video back to our home in Canada before we got back from our trip and the souvenir pricing are very affordable. Good job Sunshine plus the Fx-Star was very clean and in good order.
