“Happy waitress here. Ask for Katie”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013 via mobile

Greeted at table by Katie, great smile and very pleasant waitress. She suggested several lunch offering and up sell the combo plate too. Food took average time without a rush, a pleasant surprise for a diner setting. Presentation of food was nicely done. Taste good too! Try this place it won't break the bank and you will enjoy. “Excellent Turkey Burger”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

I can say from experience that it's not easy to make a good turkey burger, but Ruby's has figured out "la method." Combine that with good fries, and you really can't ask more from a diner.

“Auntie loves the breakfast tacos...what more is there to say...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013

went next door to check on Auntie, see if she wanted to go get some brekkie....well she said heck yeah let's holo holo on down there...(surely you can figure that one out)...

seated right away at this family/locals popular eatery up front at Maui's biggest mall....Ka'ahumanu...

neither of us are strangers to Ruby's, but we don't get there together much...

Auntie went for the breakfast taco's...huge portion...two tacos, served in smaller than quesadilla size flour torts, with more than all the trimmings...plus choice of side, like sliced tomato or cottage cheese etc...

Whole wheat tortillas with scrambled egg whites, low-fat American cheese, salsa and green onions. Served with tomato slices with lean turkey sausage (or smoked bacon...the other meat choice) Guacamole and sour cream...more than she could eat, but no worries, Uncle back home was waiting for l o's (left overs)...

I, on the other hand went for my new(est) favorite...the Veggie Omelet...never disappointed in this one...nicely presented with basil leaf/cheese garnish...fresh mushroom/tomato...plenty potatoes...I forgo the muffin/toast in favour of more spuds...hey I'm from the mid West, what can I say...

all in all was less than 20$ plus tip...

service here is f-f-e...fast, friendly, efficient...food was brought out quickly...very popular place esp on Sunday after church, get choke local families...and often on Sundays they have a 'Balloon person' making those silly, well, balloon things for the kiddies...

all in all, hard to beat Ruby's...Kirk...the managing partner (read 65 hour weeks) is often cooking, and if not there he is working the floor, greeting his guests and those of us who are frequent guests...

staff is long time, and with it...they got game...

go...

enjoy...

“Good comfort food stop, great service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

We stopped here after leaving the airport and liked it so much, we stopped again later in the week when leaving Iao Valley. Great milkshakes, burgers, fries, and mac salad. Burgers are huge so be hungry. They have a lot of other things on the menu but the burgers were so good, we had them twice with a basket of Frings for the table. Great service. The young man that waited on us both times was very nice.

“What we expected”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013

The food was good, average. We had the burgers, fries and milkshake. If you do stop in my daughter and i recommend getting a milkshake. Old school made and very thick and delicious.

The decor was 1950's which is why we wanted to try it. Its located at the mall in kahului.
