“FUN!”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

Be careful getting here because it's very rocky and slippery. The person I was with slipped and scraped his knees and hands. Once you get there, it truly is something unique and memorable. Note that there will be nude people there so if that offends you, you should probably skip this.

“Seclusion At Its Best”
Reviewed December 11, 2013

This is an absolutely stunning hidden gem. Park by the school and walk down the trail. Take the path along the shoreline as it is the easiest. After a bit of hike, and some dodgy ledges you will come to the red sand beach. It is the definition of seclusion. Surrounded on three sides by rock walls, it is absolutely gorgeous and you would never know that it was there. Simply picture perfect.

We literally had the beach to ourselves with the exception of one camper. The water is great and it is an extremely relaxing location. The red sand is something you don't see often. Take your time and enjoy the beach, who knows how much longer we will have this spectacle.

“An adventure to get there, but very worth it!”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

Our private tour guide asked us if we were up for a hike .... well, it WAS that! There was one spot around a ledge where the trail was only a couple feet wide and as our kids are only 7 and 9, I was very nervous. However, once we made it across, the view of this private little cove was breathtaking. The wall of red rock on the other side, the crashing waves up and over the barrier wall that God created just to give swimmers a private, calm swimming pool, the sound of the waves beating the rocks ... just breathtaking and captivating. It is a hike across lave rocks, up and around the cliff wall and then back down to the shoreline. Take water, and give yourself plenty of time to just enjoy it.

“Must visit!! Sacramento CA”
Reviewed November 17, 2013 via mobile

We went to red sand beach with my three young girls, five, nine, and eleven year old. Park by the school and walk down the trail, remember to take the path along the shoreline because it is more easy and safer way. It is very pretty.

“Worth the Effort to get to...”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

Many posts have already said that the hike is something you have to pay attention to...there are loose rocks, pinecones and narrow places. We went in the early morning to avoid any other foot traffic and made our way there easily. Visually, the red sand is very interesting and the beach is nice. The seclusion is part of the draw...we only saw one other couple while at the beach but had to pass several other groups on the way out...this is where you need to be cautious and take your time. Go early, take your time and see the RED sand.....
