“Credit Cards Okay!”
Reviewed July 15, 2014

News flash! Pranee now takes credit and debit cards so it's even easier to enjoy the best Thai food on the island! Get there early - she opens at 10:30 on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. All the entrees are delicious but be prepared as this food is Thai hot so order accordingly. I highly recommend the crispy opakapaka with green mango salad (I eat this at least once a week). If you get there after 3 pm she maybe out of food - she's that popular! So go there hungry and not in a hurry - everything except the two daily specials is cooked to order. Trust me, it's well worth the wait.

“The most Incredible Thai Food ”
Reviewed July 13, 2014 via mobile

We visited Pranee on recommendation from the concierge. It is a local Thai Food restaurant with benches, where everything is made to order, all bet the daily specials. We have been here two days and went twice to Pranee. Yesterday we had the Tom yum soup with chicken, mild and delicious, the pad Thai , and the daily curry fish special. Today we had the salmon curry special, and drunkin fish. Another two amazing fabulously delicious dishes. We hope to go again before we leave.

“Rude, Slow”
Reviewed July 9, 2014 via mobile

Waited here 30-45 min for a table after talking to the host and getting menus. It was very crowded and they were running out of food. One employee changed the 'open' sign to closed not long after we got there. Others showed up and were seated in front of us. We asked the hostess why people who had just shown up were seated when we had been waiting for a table and she answered- 'Oh, you've decided to dine with us?'. We set our menus down on the table between us and left. Owner/Chef shouted at us not to 'throw things' at her. We threw nothing. Bad service, bad vibes all around. Had a pleasant dinner at Hana Ranch instead. These guys need to calm down and run front of house a little better.

“The "Thai Place" in Hana, Hawaii”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

We started on the road to Hana in the morning and arrived in Hana in time for lunch. We drove around and nothing looked very appealing, but we did see signs that said "Thai Place" with arrows. We followed the arrows and found a little place with covered outdoor seating and trees around it. If I could post a picture, you could see how rustic the place is--but clean. It looked like the covered eating areas that parks have.
We parked, walked up, and were greeted by young woman who explained that everything on their menu was fresh and made right there. The special of the day was mahi-mahi in a Panang curry sauce, and it was delicious. The mahi-mahi had been caught that morning, and it was the best mahi-mahi I have ever eaten. So for $15.00 a plate we had a great Thai meal with our choice of brown or white rice, and a salad. We also had their garden rolls which were fresh, large and $6.00 for two.
We should have taken our water with us because the drinks were in a cooler and a bottle of Costco water was two dollars. But, it is a long way from Hana to Costco.
I was really pleased not to have to pay $20.00 or more for another mediocre hamburger. For the money, it was our best meal on Maui.

The most delicious food I had on Maui. I spent an extra day in Hana just to dine there one more time.
