“A must-see on the road to Hana”
Reviewed June 26, 2012

The only black sand beach on the island of Maui. Worth the stop if you are driving to Hana. Very interesting lava formations and a sea cave you can explore.

“Black Sand”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

Just beautiful. The waves are strong due to the windy condition in the area. A must stop for a picnic lunch before hitting the falls.

“Jump into the cave pools!”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

The well known black sand beach definitely lives up to it's name. There are some cave's with fresh water that you can jump into and swim around. All around this park there are hidden gems.

“Black Sand Beach!”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

Much easier to get to than the Seven Sacred pools!
Great spot to take pics. The black sand was actually more like gravel rocks - wear sneakers or thick-soled wet shoes.

So much to do at this park. You can spend a few hours and do so much whether you want to Hike, Picnic, Swim, learn about the culture, etc. Definitely worth checking out.
