“Perfection!”
Reviewed July 2, 2010

My husband, 10 year old daughter and I splurged for a much needed vacation. We found Maui Ocean Breezes Vacation rentals by doing a google search.....sometimes it's hard to know what you've actually booked by just seeing on-line pics and descriptions. We booked the "Whispering Bamboo" private cottage for eight days.

Words cannot express how amazingly enchanting this cottage is. It is secluded from the main house by a wall of bamboo, has a wonderful view of the ocean, banana, papaya, exotic tropical trees in an adjacent small "canyon", a patio with dining table, a bbq and a couple of chairs to "bask" in the serene beauty of the surroundings. Anjeli has done an amazing job of painting the walls throughout the cottage to give it a "magical underwater world" feel. Our daughter was in love with her room...fit for a mermaid. I'm an artist and a very visual person....I spent time each day exploring the grounds and the cottage, finding new ceramic fish, stone sculptures etc.

The salt water pool is great, especially for kids with endless energy! There is a washer/dryer, boogie boards, snorkle gear, coolers and beach towels all available for use along with a detailed list describing local amenities; groceries, dining, towns, activities, beaches. We sorely needed not to think for eight days....... to just relax and enjoy.........this was perfect. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to return!

Oh, there is a meditation room overlooking the ocean....the most amazing snails on the wet morning grass on your way to stretching, meditating and/or yoga AND Regina...the caretaker, a wonderfully kind and helpful woman, there to answer questions, bring more toilet paper and to open coconuts for your child(ren) or you with a big old machete.

Beaches are close.....we liked Baldwin beach the best for swimming and basking...Paia has great food and some cool little stores....quite the hippy vibe with a sense of humor (a bumper sticker in one of the store windows: "Welcome to Paia, please don't feed the hippies"..... gotta love it! You have to get gelato in Paia...it was our daily indulgence.
I've gone on and on........Angeli was gracious and kind when setting up our reservation and in checking with us afterward....Regina, wonderful.....the place....wow. THANK YOU!

I can't say enough to praise Maui Ocean Breezes. It was not the ordinary hotel. motel or cabin. It was perfect for enjoying views of the ocean with great plants and vegetation all around the grounds. Yes we did experience critters that belonged outside rather than in, but we did handle that in an pest friendly way.
Regina was friendly and helpful without intruding.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days at your great vacation spot.

Wow! What a great place to stay. My husband & I traveled to Maui to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We had no idea where to stay. All we knew for sure was we did not want to be lumped in with the masses of tourists -- we like our privacy. We searched the internet and happened upon this location, read the reviews & quickly sent out an e-mail for info. I had a call within minutes and within minutes knew this was our location. We loved it! Gorgeous views, lovely ReGina answered all our questions and gave us "locals" advice, just like we asked. We will go back to Maui & we will stay here again! This is my 4th trip to Maui. We own a timeshare on Ka'anapali Beach, but also try to stay another week in a private rental in an area that is more authentically a "Maui" experience. I will never visit another rental on the island. Maui Ocean Breezes is absolutely serene. Unbelievable attention paid to cleanliness, landscaping, comfortable furniture, bedding, and decor. Surroundings inside and out meant to please the eye and ease the soul. Private, safe, convenient to Paia town, windsurfing beaches, tropical upcountry gardens, organic markets, artist galleries, delicious restaurants, Haleakala crater and Road to Hana. Don't look at anymore properties. This one exceeds anyone's expectations.

We stayed here ( in the cottage) with my husband and 2 girls. The girls loved the decor - so bright and whimsical with a fun ocean theme. My husband and I loved the peace and quiet, and the grounds are so perfectly maintained. You can feel the love the owners put into every detail. I appreciate the organic and eco-friendly attitude of the owners, with no hotel air fresheners, pesticides, etc. I am very environmentally sensitive, so my stay was pleasant and healthy. I would recommend this to travelers who want to escape the hotel/tourist scene and find a refuge in paradise.

We were very lucky to find and stay at the Maui Ocean Breezes. If you are looking for a unique experience - this is the place. Serene, quiet, spectacular views, surrounded by lush gardens and various fruit trees. Close to amenities - this is perfect location as you are both halfway to Hana and on the other side of the island to Kihea/Lahaina. Extra special highlight - you can view whales from the living room! A very memorable experience. Met our gracious host Anjali and Regina who took very good care of us. We recommend this place and will definitely stay again on our next trip to Maui. Val
