We vacationed at Maui Tradewinds for a week at the end of October and wished we could have stayed longer. It was the perfect place for us to stay. The place was about 15 minutes from Paia, easy to find, and had all the amenities mentioned on their website.
Bev and Dave were so helpful, explaining everything when we arrived but respecting our privacy from then on. Even though we stayed in the first story of their private residence we felt like the place was all ours.
The view from the Jacuzzi was divine , the landscaping beautiful, and the suite itself was spacious and homey.
If you are looking for a restful and peaceful lodging in Maui this is definitely the place to stay. Thanks Bev and Dave for helping to make our stay memorable.

We were so spoiled to stay at Maui Tradewinds Suite for 2 full weeks! The suite is immaculate! The suite and property are so beautiful that words nor pictures really convey how beautiful it is. It is so quiet the only sounds you’ll hear are the birds singing. A very nice change from the busy areas of the island! Bev and David provide everything you need for an outstanding vacation—from all the beach gear you need (chairs, coolers, boogie boards, snorkel equipment, beach towels, even sunscreen!) to kitchen items if you want to prepare meals there. Some of our favorite days on Maui were when we just stayed at “home” to enjoy the beautiful gardens that are full of flowers and tropical plants—an excellent way to kick back and relax! Bev & David are gracious hosts who respect your privacy. They are available if anything is needed but otherwise they are “invisible.” There are too many positive things about Maui Tradewinds to list everything—but there are no negative things at all! I have extremely high expectations when I rent a vacation home and Maui Tradewinds far exceeded all of my expectations! If you are looking for a paradise retreat, Maui Tradewinds is it!

For a truly (5) star Maui vacation experience we recommend Bev & David's Maui Tradewinds.
As fairly frequent Maui vacationers we only recently found out about the Tradewinds on the beautiful north shore. Our stay at the Tradewinds was a unique experience that will last a lifetime.

Our experience began with a orientation by Bev to the bungalow. What we saw and the welcome she provided far exceeded our expectations. She reviewed what was supplied, which is everything, how to operate everything, where things are found, and how to reach Bev and David if we require anything. Both of them are caring and gracious hosts to make your stay pleasant and memorable, it was clear from the beginning their intent was to make our stay a "home away from home". They have put together a manual of maps, restaurants and where to go sites to assist you in our plans.

This is a unique vacation spot because its luxury living away from the crowds but with pristine views of tropical landscapes. Each room has a 180 degree view for sunrises and sunsets.
What we experienced in our stay could be descrbed in one word "perfection".
Highpoints are:
* Everything is very clean
* 180 view deck with a Jacuzzi
* Fully stocked and supplied with robes, linen, towels, appliances, some food, deck furniture.
* A well thought out and designed B & B
* Views of lush landscape and serenity
* Sun rise and sunset views
* Close to Haiku and Paia for shopping and restaurants

Hopefully we will be back,
D. & S. Claeys

We just returned from a 14-day stay at Maui Tradewinds - this was our 5th time at this perfect home away from home. Why do we continue to return? Bev and David are such wonderful host and friends, Derrick who taught us how to make 2-traditional Hawaiian dishes, the sunsets and sunrises in the Jacuzzi, the private, outdoor shower with incredibly lush views, the hammock for two, the Weber to grill local fish on and the 180-degree views of the island from numerous vantage points. The hidden secret is the best island restaurants are on this side and without the high, hotel prices. Each time we go, we come back more in love than we arrived - even after 41-years together. We will be back again -

If you want to stay somewhere that gives you a great sense of luxury and independence, this is perfect. Far from the busy, giant hotels but close to the charming and relaxed town of Pa'ia, I could not think of anywhere better. Great hosts, great location, great house.

We have been coming to Maui for over 20-years and the last five times we have stayed at the Tradewinds Suite. We just returned yesterday from a 14-day stay. The reason we keep coming back - the Outdoor Spa with a Private, 180-degree view of the Pacific and Haleakala, the Private, Outdoor Shower - again with an incredible view, Barbecuing on the grass with 3 double sets of Tiki Torches and a 1,000 sq feet of indoor space that is yours to NOT share!
You are awakened by gentle rains and birds singing and you end your nights counting stars. This trip the Milky Way was in full view. The other bonus is the best restaurants are in Haiku, Makawao and Paia, all close and without the high prices elsewhere on the island.

Finally, Bev and David provide for all your needs and the added bonus is getting to know them. We will be back!

I recently stayed here on my honeymoon and absolutely loved the place. The views in the Starwind Suite are even better than in the pictures. We were literally blown away. Walking out on the deck and viewing the landscape was just breathtaking. We could see the Milkway on clear nights, and enjoyed going rainbow hunting whenever the rains swept through.

The place is very clean and very quiet with the exception of the birds in the morning. It felt completely private. The kitchen had everything that we needed along with a lot of extras like the bountiful fruit spread that is provided for guests that stay for a week or longer. There's a mixer for fruit drinks, a toaster, basic cooking supplies, etc. We ate most of our meals in after purchasing groceries from the nearby Mana Foods in Paia.

If you are looking for a place that is remote and romantic in Maui, I highly recommend this one. Haiku is a small town near the lush road to Hana and its many waterfalls, along with the crater Haleakala that is easily seen from the deck. We waited to drive up the crater until the day was very clear and we were stunned by how beautifully the sun set over the clouds at the top of the mountain. We also pulled over on the drive drown for one of the clearest views that I have ever seen of the night sky. There was more white than black.

Bev was a great hostess and we enjoyed talking with her a couple of times. She's there if you need anything, but never comes by unless you ask. All in all we could not be more pleased. Beautiful beaches where it's always sunny are a relative short drive away and the chairs that they provide are really comfortable. There are so many small details that were just right, like the size of the bathtub, and the gorgeous flowers inside.

I could go on, but I think you get the picture. This place is one of a kind.
