This course is magnificent. Beware of the tree cutters all around the course. They do not stop their machinery when you line up and play your shot. Some of them actually found one of our shots to be so poor that they were pointing and laughing. My group did not appreciate these people at all - especially given the price per round. A complaint to management yielded a response that "these are not my workers you need to complain to Larry Ellison"

Yes, the setting is fantastic. Indeed it is a beautiful course overlooking the Ocean, cliffs and expansive fields. The service is really good and they allowed us to play as much golf as we want in a day for the green fee.

My husband played two rounds but I can't last more than 18 holes, so I guess the exorbitant green fee is worth it if you can play two rounds but not for one round.

The fairways and greens are not as impeccably kept as one would expect.

The rental clubs are Callaways.

The shrimp BLT at the clubhouse is highly recommended.

took the 6:30am ferry to Lana'i from Lahaina with plans to play the Experience at Koele in the morning and the Challenge in the afternoon, before making the 6:30pm return trip. Had no difficulty playing both rounds with enough time left to shower and change in the Challenge locker room, and enjoy a celebratory drink by the pool at the hotel.

I had a 1:30 tee time, but finished my morning round in time to make it down the mountain by 12:45. Starter said I could go right out, as there were just a few groups on the course. Didn't run into anyone till the 16th hole - it was like having my own private golf course.

I loved this course. Vista views of the ocean from almost every hole. Terrific layout - through the remains of lava fields at times, some forced carries over ravines, 2-3 shots from the top of one ocean cliff to another, including the par 3 12th, elevation changes. Fun to play, but take-a-deep-breath scary at times, as well. Course was in great condition, immaculate from tee to green. Greens were challenging but fair - putted true all day.

Course staff were universally helpful and friendly. Cart lady sought me out at the end of her day to make sure I had enough Powerade for the trip back to Maui!

Whipped, chopped and pureed by the end of the day, but hugely pleased with the day's golf!

Took the ferry over to Lanai to play the Experience and the Challenge and would consider a must for travellers. Ferry ride was beautiful with a sunrise and whale watching. Service and shuttle to and from courses was great. The Experience course had a great layout with Bent greens, nice change from Bermuda. Bring an extra layer of clothing as the back nine is about 2000 feet above sea level. You will hit most clubs in your bag. The Challenge has become my favourite course that I have played. The Nicklaus design with no rough around most greens allows for multiple options. The views are outstanding and the layout has a bit of everything. The 12th hole is a permanent postcard in your mind. Course condition was excellent. A must play.

Course has some neat holes but also has some quirky holes as well. #12 Par 3 is worth the visit by itself. What a hole! Plays longer than the card says. They are definitely struggling on lanai, Murdoch did not put much $ into the island. Course was shaggy and very dry, needs a new irrigation system as this one 20 years old. Now that Ellison has purchased the isand, things should get better. Ocean views are gorgeous! Dont think the $225 a round is worth it, maybe $150-$175. If the course was in better shape, then ok on the $225.

Food at the club house resturant was amazing but a little pricey. Lastly, pace of play here and at Experience was very good. Goth were under 4 hours.
