“Thank you for buying the Free Breakfast plan”
Reviewed February 10, 2011

We only ate here for breakfast. In my infinite wisdom, I had a package at the Four Seasons that included breakfast for 2 each morning. Luckily, there were only two of us! Otherwise, $32 before tax and tip. You did not get free champagne for that price either. However, it was a great spread. The view from the outside deck was great and the food was awesome. We were able to skip lunch each day and last until dinner.
Dress in the morning was very casual.

“Excellent Italian Cuisine”
Reviewed July 9, 2010

My wife and I just tried the new Italian menu at Hulopo`e Court and it's excellent. The contemporary Italian cuisine was flavorful and we loved how the chef combined local ingredients to add a local touch to the menu. The atmosphere was beautiful, overlooking Hulopo`e Bay and the service was great.

“Good food, good view, high prices”
Reviewed July 22, 2009

My husband and I ate here for dinner on Saturday night. We were intrigued by the concept of four different types of food on the same menu. We requested and received a table on the covered lanai overlooking the ocean. At sunset, a man blows a conch and lights the torches. Nice touch. Our waiter, Craig, needs to learn the menu a bit more but was very nice. The food is to be ordered like Dim Sum and is served family style. I ordered the bean soup (which was just ok), and then we had the lettuce chicken wraps with chili and hoi sin sauce (yum), the short ribs (yum again), the fried rice and the kung pao chicken (which can be ordered as hot as you want it - and my husband wanted and got it hot!). A nice experience. Just wish it hadn't cost so much. One mixed drink was $14. The total bill was over $100. See my Lanai City Grill review. The food there was as good or better and we never paid that much.

“Worst food we've had in the Hawaiian Islands”
Reviewed July 12, 2009

Our family went to our first dinner at the Four Seasons Menele Bay with high expectations. The kids started with Portuguese Soup and while the flavor was good the pork in the soup was mostly pure fat. Next Mom and Dad got the Ahi sashimi. It was revolting. My wife spit her first bite out in her napkin. Unfortunately I swallowed it. We had just eaten sashimi at The Banyan Tree at the Ritz in Kapalua the night before and it was excellent. What a contrast!

At this point we were about ready to walk out, but then my daughter's chicken arrived that the menu said "no spice added". Which we assumed meant it was not going to be spicy. After all, she ordered it off the Kids Menu. Unfortunately, our 7 year old took a bite and immediately exclaimed IT'S HOT! Sure enough, after tasting it, it was very spicy, even by spice-loving parents standards. After the 7 year old drank a lot of milk and water we decided enough was enough and left with a $150 bill (Mai Tai, 2 glasses of wine and a couple other marginal dishes).

Avoid this place at all costs. Eat at the grill by the pool and be happy with the burgers.

“Beautiful View- Strange Concept”
Reviewed July 6, 2009

The b-fast buffett is served here. The breakfast buffett is very good. The pancakes with coconut syrup are yummy. They have lots of fresh fruits. As has been said the buffett is very expensive, $80.00 for two people.

The dinner concept is very strange. They group the menu into countries and everything is ala- carte. No entree with a side dish. You order everything separately, even the rice. The portions are tiny. You think you can share, but they are so small. This is the casual concept restaurant for the hotel. The view is amazing. The dinner wait staff was not great and the menu not impressive. I would choose another place if avaible.
