“Nobu good but really pricy”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

We had a varied meal so we could try many things. They were all good but not sure with the extremely high pricing!

“New and Exciting Changes at Manele Bay”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

Having just missed the opening of this room in December, we made sure we had at least one meal at Nobu during our most recent trip to Lana'i and while it was not the most outstanding meal of our stay it was definitely one of the better ones. Perhaps the anticipation and expectations colored our opinions relative to the Nobu experience and I am sure we will be back on our next trip. The menu was brief and concise and the entrees easy to share. Flavors were bright, crisp and clean and the dishes were as much a pleasure to look at as they were to eat. Oddly the one really memorable thing about the evening were the chandeliers in the entryway that resembled Uni.

Great food and setting. Having been to Nobu in Waikiki, London, LA and Cape Town this did not disappoint. Service was slightly haphazard but food was excellent. A definite must do for anyone visiting the island. Great wine list (whispering angel rose worked a wonder with the various sushi plates we ordered). Some local fish on the offering too - delicately plated and extremely tastey.

“Expected more from a Nobu restaurant”
Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

Came here for dinner one evening.
- hamachi sashimi was very fresh and excellent
- Nobu's signature dish, the miso cod, was excellent. The miso flavor was subtly combined with a very light sweet glaze.
- the rib eye steak was terrible- it was tough and did or live up to expectations, fortunately, our server took it off the bill
- the soft shell crab sushi roll was ok, but nothing different from any other sushi restaurant

Stick with fresh seafood.

Aloha TravelForever58,

Thanks for taking the time to review your experience with us. I'm glad you enjoyed our signature dishes. The yellowtail jalapeño is an excellent choice, as well as the black cod. I'm also pleased to learn that you experienced Chef's wonderful flavors. I want to apologize for missing the mark on the rib eye. Chef and I appreciative your honest feedback and have taken a closer look at the preparation of this dish. We hope you dine with us again soon, whether here in paradise, or in one of our other restaurants worldwide.

“innovative, delicious and such an experience”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

Our first trip to Nobu was so amazing we had to go back so we went twice on our Lanai vacation.
The food was honestly innovative and we are Japanese food lovers. The combination of the Peruvian accents really made the dishes unique and so delicious. You can eat "raw" food but the cooked and hot dishes are just as interesting.
Great addition to the Four Seasons..
