If this is the hike to the canyon floor, it was treacherous. Make sure to bring a ton of water because it is hot! The hike was very steep! 2.5 miles down and 2.5 miles back. Not ideal for children as the path gets narrow with steep drop offs. Also, the dirt is very loose and the path is very steep, so you have to be good on your feet. It ends at a small campsite and the river with a nice swimming hole. You need to start early so you can spend some time by the river. Bring bug repellant or you will be eaten alive by mosquitoes! Don't let the sun set on you in the canyon! We were stalked by a wild boar on the trail about an hour before sundown and had to stand very still and make loud noises. Hike with a stick or some pepper spray. Enjoy! You will have a love-hate relationship with this hike! The view is unreal! :)
