“Wonderful place to stay for your vacation !!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2014

If you are looking for a great place to stay while on your vacation, then this is the place for you. What a great place !!! Very Clean, roomy and they offer a full Kitchenette if that's in your needs. Staff is very wonderful and courteous. They will catered to your needs. Office Manager Oskar, will take care of you 100%...Very Clean rooms, Laundry facility, great location. Weather is great in the town of Waimea, compare to the other locations on the island during our visit... Walking distance to local stores/ Restaurant's and shops. Quick drives to the beautiful white sandy beaches and all the tourist attractions. But best of all, this is a great place to stay. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with The West Inn...Call them for your next visit on the Island of Kauai ....I know we will !!!

Room Tip: The Kitchenette was so nice to have...We prepared our breakfast every morning and then had the rest...

Spent a month living in a 1 Bedroom Suite at The West Inn. This place was exactly what I was looking for. The room was clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I had a great view of the mountains that make up beautiful Kauai. The staff greeted me with a big smile as if they knew me for years. If you like hiking, the road to Waimea Canyon is a short distance away. If you want a change of pace from the quite town of Waimea, Lihue and Poipu are less than an hour away.

The West Inn is clean, convenient to SW Kaua'i and the Wiamea Canyon/Koke'e Park area.
Wiamea as a town is small and not tourist based, it's a working community of Kaua'i.
Oscar (manager) is very helpful. the room is standard size, good condition and second floor rooms only.
all in all, if you're going hiking in the SW & Western Kaua'i- the West Inn works well.

Room Tip: No fitness center or pool.

Oskar at the front desk is great. He was super helpful and friendly - gave tips on hikes, helped carry bags to our room, always asking how we were doing and if there was anything we needed. Great asset to the property.

The hotel itself is pretty great, too. Understand, this isn't a fancy resort. But, if you need a clean, comfortable room, they've got it. Ours had an ocean view, but not all will. We had, what I believe was, the cheapest room, and it came with a fridge (w/ real freezer), microwave, sink, plates, bowls, utensils, coffee maker, coffee. I think if you get the suite you also get a stove.

We didn't plan to spend three nights in Waimea, but we ended up really digging the quiet little town. And, having the relaxing hotel room w/ the sounds of the ocean in the background didn't hurt. I'm sure we'll be back.

Room Tip: The lowest numbered rooms have an ocean view (we were in room 3, I think there were 5 or 6 in that b...

This was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay for hiking in Waimea and Kokee. It was an easy drive from here to Waimea canyon, so close.
The room seemed new and was very clean. It was spacious and had a nice lanai. The little
kitchenette was useful and nice to have. The bed was comfortable and there was a nice comfy chair with a foot-rest. It was convenient to have a washer and dryer to use in a common area. Very easy to come and go from this location. Walking distance to some stores and restaurants.
Would stay here again!

Room Tip: Just keep in mind that there are no elevators to the second floor.

Thank you so much for posting your review. We are very happy to hear that you were pleased with the accommodations. Sometimes convenience is everything, especially after a day of hiking up in Waimea Canyon. After a long day like that the last thing you want to do is drive an hour or longer to get back to your hotel and being one of only 2 hotels on the west side makes it very convenient for those west side visits. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and look forward to seeing you in the future. Mahalo!

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

My husband and I spent 4 nights in West Inn Kauai in Waimea beginning of Aug 2013 as a base for excursions into Waimea Canyon and activities in west and south Kauai. The room was on the second floor, we had to carry our luggage up stairs but that wasn't a big deal for us. The room looked new and well done with stone-tile in the bathroom and granite counter-top on the kitchenette. There were minimal furnishings, but everything we needed: king bed, nightstand, dresser, TV, air conditioner. A table and 2 chairs were outside on the covered, shared balcony. The kitchenette had a fairly large sink, a small/medium sized refrigerator with a separate freezer with ice-tray, microwave, coffee-maker, and cabinet-drawers containing cutlery, plates, a couple-glasses, a couple mugs, and can and bottler openers, dish-detergent, towels. The room was serviced once when we were there (new towels and trash taken) so I assume the house-keeping schedule is every other day, which is similar to my experience with other small Inns.

The Inn is in the center of town, a couple blocks walk from practically everything: supermarket, quick-food stands and cafes, a bank with auto-teller, a steakhouse restaurant. The movie theater is across the street (we caught a mid-week early show of a recent-release summer block-buster) and the town pier is around the corner and down the block for viewing the sunset.

the West Inn had everything we needed, and we were quite satisfied with our stay.

We spent a few days in Waimea after a kayak trip down the Na Pali Coast. The location was perfect for accessing Waimea Canyon, Polihale, Hanapepe and a few surf spots. The West Inn was very clean and comfortable. The rooms were brand new. The full kitchen was very nice and allowed us to take advantage of the patio and grills that were available for use. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend the West Inn.
